Actually, neither, Day and Night is a term we use to suggest the time of the day, Day, is when there is daylight, from when the sun rises in the morning, to when it sets in the evening. then its called Night, because the sun has traveled to the other side of the world, and we are left on total darkness. Night is when we usually sleep, because its been this way for millions of years, when day light was the best time for us to hunt, work, play. so at night we rest. technically the day doesn't start till 12:00am and ends at 11:59pm.. So if you want to put it in your way, Night is first, because of the light matter, but all together, its Day, no matter if its Sunny, or Moon light..

Night. Day came later. In the beginning there was darkness and then God created light.

Night.
The Earth rotates around it's axis around the Sun to produce Day and Night.
If there was no Sun, then it would be all Night.
In the beginning, there was no Sun, hence in the beginning it started as Night. Hence Night comes first.
Or how about this one...
Night comes first as your clock 'start's at 12:00am... which is 'night'.

Read the bible, the first book in the bible is called - Genesis. Genesis means "beginning" it tells all about how God created everything. It says "in the beginning there was darkness, and God said 'Let there be light, and there was light and God saw that it was good'". So, Night came first and then day.

It varies from person to person. If you think, you first sleep and then get up - then Night comes first to you. If you think, you first get up and then sleep - then Day comes first to you.

I suppose its a matter of perspective. If you were born at night, then for you, night came first. If you were born during the day, then obviously day came first.
