this will not going to happen. Christian is different from catholic and protestant.
Even in the time of the Apostles, there are debates about religion. Probably, the situation is quite similar to today’s situation. There are debates recorded in the book of Acts 9:22 and 29 —

“But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.

And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him.”

There are even killings during debates that time! Proof is, they really killed Stephen by stoning him because they were not able to defeat him! This is stated in the books of Acts 7:59 —

“And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.”

Stephen was killed because he was defending the teachings of Christ against evil people and liars. We are not equally of God's. Not all religions and preachers are of God. There are religions established by the devil — their ministers are of the devil: deceivers; teaching a different Christ — criminals! This is the reason why there are debates; but if all will just acknowledge the God of the Bible, there would be unity and no debates! Others established a business in disguise of religion. They make God's words a merchandize as stated in 2 Corinthians 2:17 —

“For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.”

There are also like them in our time. They even ask for monetary contributions during a supper! That is why religions do not have unity. Remember what is written in 2 Corinthians 2:14 —

“For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.”

How can you attain unity in religion when there are religions whose only intention is to make merchandise? They don't give a damn about the salvation of their fellowmen. They even teach them to kill and be rude; lying even in national television. Unity in religion will not happen! Darkness will not affiliate with light, and vice-versa. God will not reconcile with the devil.

The reasons Protestants broke off from Catholicism are many, and include core components of Catholicism. To compromise would be to dillute what constitutes true Protestantism and true Catholicism.

Many false religions have roots in Christianity. Christianity itself has roots in ancient Judaism. Roots do not matter if the vines have become poison.

Read the Holy Bible (KJV), the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and Martin Luther's 95 Theses, (all freely available online; Google them) and you will have a much better understanding of the irreconcilable differences between the two sects. All it takes is a little research. Catholicism is fundamentally at odds with the Bible (idol worship, making Sunday holy, confession of sin, the rosary, prayers to saints, Mary as sinless, Mary as the mother of God, transubstantiation, the pope as vicar of Christ, the Catholic church as the only way to Christ, salvation by works, purgatory, corruption of bible versions, ecumencialism / syncretism, etc.).

A good site for questions like these is www.gotquestions.org.

Well, it would mean the end of Protestantism, because protestant came about to protest the catholic faith.
And it is true, Protestantism will end, because the Pope IS the false Christ. he already claims to be the holy father. All religions will merge except one. That will be God's children. They alone will not be a part of the Catholic world dominion.

It is not a dream; it is a very big possibility. The Methodist and Lutheran Churches are already planning to join the Universal Church. The Catholic Church might even declare Martin Luther a saint.
Peace and every blessing!

yes the beast(pope-in the vatican) and the image of the beast(world council of ecumenical churches-headquartered at the vatican II in new york city) will unite or rather they have all ready united all organized religions into one great big religious cess pool which does not fulfill christ's prayer of being one.
Christ wanted the individual believer to become one with the father just as christ and the father are one. that means that a few believers will attain perfection in their doctrine and become one with God just as christ did and they will fulfill christ's word, the "works" that i do shall ye do also yet greater "works" shall ye do.
of course, these 2 evil religious structures will bring their forced worship upon the world just as it was in the dark ages. they will do it economically at first but will progress to killing you if you don't join up with these antichrist systems that defile the world with their false doctrines. they will refute the true believer by manifesting gifts of the spirit which is the deception of this age.
people see someone with a gift and think they are of God when scripture says gifts and callings are without repentance and they are not perfect but to manifest the works of God, that is perfect, and the believer has to be granted repentance by God and be one with Him as christ and God are one to do the "works". That is something most don't understand is the difference between gifts and "works". they are not the same. We are living in the day of that which makes perfect not the hour of that which is in part.
the showdown is coming

I have an even bigger dream than that. All religions will come together soon. As there is much more that brings us together then drives us apart. Jews, Christians, Muslims and Hindu's,
and others will see that united we stand, divided we fall.

Peace to you all, of all religions.

I* have no idea what primoa (above me ) is going on about, actually sounds like a jehovahs witness with his idol talk. Actually I dont see why that wont work. IT may very well happen. After all we really all belong to the same church. The church of god.

When the Catholic church embraces sola fide and sola scriptura, then the two might merge. Otherwise, it will not happen. Remember, the Catholic church has decreed that people who believe in sola fide and sola scriptura are "anathema," and that position has never been retracted.

Your dream is God's dream.
One day every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord.

My Pastor likes to say, come that day, there will be many at the marriage feast of the Lamb who will be joyfully astonished at who their neighbor is.
