the mosques i have seen are much more beautiful than many churches.

i'm pagan, so i worship outside, not in a building, so you're always looking at my place of worship -lol

there is a gorgeous catholic church near me which is lit up at night, it's just stunning. sunday mornings i can hear the church bells and i love it!

i don't have any problem with mosques or churches or temples, i love the architecture of them!

As a Christian I'm not offended with building the Mosque and yet why Muslim really offended when the Christian put a big cross on the school or on the church. In Muslim country there is a certain guide on how big is the cross can be put on top of the church

the 1st one that victory declare became made up via Christians attempting to unfold hatred in direction of Islam If Muslims conquered a usa...do you think of they're going to choose in a Church? no comparable with Christians whilst they conquered international locations they equipped church homes no one ever accused those for being victory monuments its ridiculous they make Mosques so as that they might pray plus the development being equipped in long island isn't even a Mosque its an Islamic center purely like there are various Korean centers in new york, there are various Islamic centers

Here, there is a church or synagogue on every corner. Adding a mosque surely wouldn't hurt any. I don't know why anyone would be against it. I assume you're in the USA. So it doesn't make any sense to compare this what one would be able to do in another country. In the US, you're allowed to practice whatever faith you want. Any patriotic american would fight for your right to worship as you wish. It's simply your right to do so!

Do you not think that a question like that is likely to stir up hate and antagonism and resentment?

Have you not considered that it shows a terrible lack of respect and gross insensitivity and extreme self centreness?

Is it reasonable to force an alien culture upon any people?

Would you be happy with such a question if the situation were exactly reversed?

Look at many of the answers, do they not bear out what I ask?

Please, if you want to be accepted, withdraw your question.

Unfortunately, the ones (mostly) who build them are the rich Saudis. Most of Saudi Arabia are Wahabees. They are a very fanatical branch of the Sunni sect. They fathered al-Qaeda and the principles of non-Muslims are ..... Who are they to decide? God is the only one who judges us. The Wahabees gave us a bad name, hence most of the world hate us.
They say "our country is a Christian one" maybe they are right.

Without admitting to anything myself, it must be clear to you that the Average Joe in the West does not want muslims living alongside him, he does not want expressions of islam (mosques) being built in his country, he does not want to stretch his tolerance of an alien visitor's religious beliefs to allow them to congregate without supervision so that they can plot terrorism attacks on the innocent. Clearly, Average Joe would like to see all muslims despatched back to the desert as quickly as possible so that they can kill themselves as they please and leave the civilised world alone.
That is not necessarily MY own view, as I have some muslim friends. I tolerate their religious stupidity and they are aware that I am an atheist. We get along fine.
Tolerance of ANY religious faith is a stretch of my own, as it is quite clear that your god is a fictitious being, that your revered prophet was an evil man and that your teachings are also evil, as being taught right now in the religious schools in Pakistan.
Try looking at www.prophetmohammed.com.uk and look at the videos of the imams in the mosques ... english subtitles unless you know Arabic well enough. Then tell me that it is OK for Average Joe to welcome a mosque in his neighbourhood.
Be realistic.
Try erecting a synagogue or a church in Saudi Arabia and see what happens.

We do not get upset about mosques being built, we get upset about the fact that if we came to a muslim country and wanted to build a christian church or an orthadox church etc. we would not be allowed to do it for obvious reasons. We also allowheaddresses to be worn etc. when we wouldn't be allowed to show our heads. shoulders, legs etc. in a muslim country. I think with this in mind, we are a damn site more tolerant than muslim countries.
