Is there any other reason other then supernatural involvement for the lack of peace in the world today.
The whole world is praying and wanting peace.
Revelation 12:9.....So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him.

Technically, anything not understood by science can be considered supernatural. Since many things are not understood by science, many things are supernatural.
There is no way to prove something supernatural, because when such things are revealed they are revealed in ways we can perceive them (physically / naturally), which takes them out of the supernatural. For example, many scientists write off spiritual experiences as hallucinations or disorders. Demon possession, God, sin, and other things are also generally rejected by modern science. As you are probably well aware, creationism and macroevolution are also at odds with each other.
Experience that "leads us to believe" relies on personal feelings, and can be dangerous. Often our experience is based on those around us. Long ago, the consensus has been the world was flat, the sun revolved around the Earth, and that slavery was okay. Today, many immoral things are justified by law (either by the majority or by representatives of the majority). Majority and consensus does not imply righteousness. You should not rely on popularity for your beliefs, just as you should not rely on others to find God. It is a personal journey.
With that said, it is important to remember that there exist absolutes; for example, if you do not believe in gravity and walk off the edge of a cliff, you will still fall, regardless of your belief. So the most important thing is to find what is true and right, even if it means being at the expense of acceptance. A good first step would be to open your heart and genuinely seek God, not just as a curiosity.

I'm an atheist, so what I see are things that science just hasn't found the answers for yet. But I don't believe in gods, devils, spirits, gnomes, fairies or the Easter Bunny.

Nope. There's no evidence of these things.
There are plenty of interesting, unexplained phenomena all around us. We need to be humble enough to accept the fact that we don't have the explanations, not arrogantly invent supernatural explanations and then insist that they must be true.

OK, simple one for you..
Where is your mind located?
I don't mean your brain, or brain functions, I mean your mind, the thought you are thinking.
Because you think that thought must exist, but where?
If you can answer that properly, you might find something fairly mysterious happening right in front of you.

There are angels & demons all around us in the spiritual realm....
So yes.
In my personal experience, I witnessed a miracle in my life....God saved me through the blood of Jesus Christ. Salvation truly is a miracle of God.

Yes, they happen. But that doesn't mean they won't be explained. It only means they haven't been explained YET. It also doesn't make them "god created".
