A bully is obviously trying to gain control of his life through means of abusing other children, so it would be a cause and effect to assume he's getting abused somewhere at home, whether its intentional or not. Most parents raise a bully, not "have" a bully. Of course there are always exceptions to the rule, and if that case does occur, proper and consistent disciplinary actions could be met, to resolve the issue.
Which would I prefer? My children.

Would I prefer a child who gets satisfaction from emotionally and/or phsically abusing another human being simply because they can? That is what a bully is, a coward who takes advantage of someone else through intimidation. A bully has no positive qualities. No I certainly would not want a bully as a child. What is wrong with being a nice kid. A child who is respectful and responsible is a parents dream.Let me ask you which kid would you want to find your wallet if you lose it?

A nice kid of course. I also want my children to never back down from a bully either. My oldest doesn't back down from anyone trying to bully him and believe it or not, the bully always backs down first.

Duh!! I want a nice kid but for her own self respect and confidence I want her to be able to stand up for herself which she does and so far she has never had to deal with bullies and she actually takes part in a scheme in school where the older kids look after the younger kids in the playground to ensure that bullying does not happen and that if it does that it gets sorted immediately.
