How do I uninstall windows defender?

I hate it it drives me nutz! I have AVG and Spybot so i just feel I dont need this. i have a Vista. I have gone to control panel and uninstall programs but I dont see it listed there???

Dont know that you can un-install it in Vista. XP yes, but I don't think you can with Vista - you can however - disable it easily. Right click Computer and click Manage. Expand Services and Applications and then click Services - scroll down to Windows Defender and set startup type to Disable. Reboot.

Welcome to VISTA, You can't--it is an integral part of Vista. You can disable it, using the
choices in Tools, Options, at the very bottom.
