Depends...... You are not allowed to bring in any dog that is part bred Dingo, you are not allowed to bring Turtles either.
Foxes are also frowned upon as are fish such as gambusia and carp. Goldfish may only be imported from certified breeders and only a limited number of varieties are now allowed to be imported.
You will definitely need quarantine permits for birds such as canaries and budgies or chooks and I assume that is also the case with various other domestic animals. I would suggest that you contact Quarantine and and ask them well in advance of leaving.
