I don't want to wake people up.

It would not bother me no matter when you decided to take a shower. I'd be thankful you were showering. I take it the people you're referring to are roommates. If so talk with them. If not shower whenever you please others shouldn't be disturbed. If they are then it sounds like a problem with walls being too thin and that is not your problem.

I don't think it's ever too late. Taking a shower isn't like stomping around above someone's head, playing loud music or yelling--it's just water running through pipes. My upstairs neighbor takes a shower every morning and it doesn't wake me--my alarm clock does. When the clock wakes me, I notice she's already in the shower and has been for a while because shortly thereafter she gets out.

What kind of walls and pipes are we talking about? Does a shower make that much noise to wake someone up in another apt?

It is never too late. Have a shower whenever you want to.

It only depends on whether you are singing or whistling while showering.!! :)

Well, you -more or less- know their hourly schedules and you can guess the hours they want to rest. So, since you are that considerate and I appreciate that, take care not to shower or make extra noise on these hours.

I wish my own neighbours were like you.

I'd say until half 11 max, preferably before half 10.. (As Mary said- It depends on how noisy your plumbing is/how sensitive the people you don't want to disturb are to noise).

Renters have to put up with inconveniences. You have the right to use anything in your own apartment whenever you need to but not complain when others do the same.

Is your appartment *that* noisy? It's not that loud a sound, I think you can shower at any time you want. Just don't sing.

Must have really thin walls or really loud water pipes. No later than 10:00, I guess.

Please?. It's NEVER to late to bathe. Don't let P U become part of your name. If your pipes are that noisy you might want to think about moving? Because if they can hear the water running, what else can they hear?
