For example young earth believers reckon the earth is 6000yrs old some even go younger to 3500. Now microfossils such as Ediacaran biota have been recovered and dated as far back as 530 million years ago, other types have been dated even further back than this. Ok if you are going to take the view that this can be proved, then logically you must also take that view with your own idea which can be proved less. Science does not discriminate only religon does!
I would like to here some creationsit views on this and some creationist hypotheses?

Oh and we have other methods to radioactive dating which are now being used. even if RD is not accurate they are still much older than even 30 000 yrs , even when Standard error and variance of sampling error is factored in . Also cosmology has methods to date the earth based on bakground radiation traces and Bayesian modelling in context with the ages of other celestial objects.

( To keep it simple ) They don't have one, most of CREATIONISTS or YOUNG EARTH groups don't agree with the findings of Radiocabon Dating (carbon 14), because it can only date organic material to 40,000 years +/- 50 years; that is their case for argument; but Potassium-Argon is another form of dating which you don't hear much about from them because, it can do inorganic (like rocks or organic material that turned into fossils) up to 1.3 billion years, there is also Thermoluminescence Dating (mostly for dating volcanco).
There are other forms of Dating as well, but we won't go into that right now, even though evidence is before them, even though the five books of Moses (Gensis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy) are in two other religions, the TORAH and the HEBREW BIBLE, and in some parts of the Quran, even though there are other creations stories before gensis was even thought up. Zoroastrianisn religion started in 1700-1000 BC, Hinduism religion started in 2600-1500 BC and Egyptian religion started in 4000 - 3000 BC (in general timeline not exact) The only thing the CREATIONIST and YOUNG EARTH care about is themselves and believing in old stories, which is nothing more than a fairy tale for children

Well Friend, I am very glad as a Christian that you have science that can date this planet back to millions of yrs. old, I can too by the scriptures, Go to Genesis 9:1 & see what God told Noah after the flood, He said to REPLINISH the Earth or to FILL it up Again, Now let's see what God told Adam Gen.1:28 God told Adam & Eve exactly the samething, to REPLINISH the earth, or to fill it up again, Why would God tell Adam that if there was never a time before Adam & Eve. Now I can also bring in scriptures to show you that satan was a fallen angel at the beginning, he was once the highest angel except for God in heaven until iniquity was found in him, & where was all those fallen angels also tested in the Prehistoric time, There is also angels that sinned so bad that God has cast them into Chains until the Great white Throne Judgement day, & guess what The Saints shall Judge the world, & even angel Because these angels kept not their first estate. Yes this planet is millions If not billions of yrs. old, & anything that lived in that pre-historic time did NOT have a soul, those cave man or women was an upright creature But they were Not Sons & Daughters of God & neither did they have a soul, & that creature in the garden was an upright creature & he was not a son of God & neither did he have a soul, He was the highest form from the prehistoric time that God brought forth back to life to be a worker for Adam. Many thinks he was a snake, But he was an upright creature that could talk, In Gen. 3:14 We see God cursing the serpent into the reptile family but not until then. Oh yes there was an ice age that killed off all those prehistoric creatures as cavemen/women & Dinosuars, & that ice age could have lasted millions of years. Is this strange to hear this from a true Christian, By praying & studing the Bible & history, These scriptures is more clearer today that it was 37 yrs ago when I started serving God. Friend I can bring in mny more scriptures, But I won't because of time & space. So did I bust your bubble with these bible verses. Don't judge all young Christians with those that is a vetern in serving God.

I'm not extreme, Just hear me out for a sec, ok?

The first Chapter of the bible is entirely about the earth. It's creation, species, time period.

The Bible DOES NOT give any idea as to when the creative process began, it simply refers to it as 7 "days",or collective periods of time, just like you are living in your day, or collective period of time.

As far as human inhabitance of the earth, the years 6500- 7000 B.C.E. have been batted around, and is likely valid. This is due to the fact that, as many well-informed scientists will agree, the natural carbon dating process that is used so much these days, was at some point in time interrupted by a unnatural event, such as the great deluge of water, or flood, which occured as described in the book of Genesis around 4800 B.C.E.

The only way to accept creationism as true and scientific is to reject all commonsense, all that one sees around and all human reasoning developed over he last 2500 years.

Although it is weak, the idea that Genesis is a metaphor does actually make the whole thing less laughable.

this whole argument against radiometric dating really annoys me...when there are so many different methods all pointing to the same evidence, it's difficult to comprehend why anyone would refute it, unless of course, they know absolutely nothing about basic physics, then it all makes sense!

J-chad, you're arguing against a method by using evidence that doesnt exist...carbon isnt the only element used in dating techniques you know

We all should pity the delusional psychotics for their unfortunate medical condition and simply help them to stay on the med schedule.

They can never explain the endless contradictions of even their own religious texts- and this goes for all religions- which are simply human constructs to make sense of the unknown and provide a framework of meaning to their existence.

Personally, I feel the fast-growing religion of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster offers the best answers to date of any religion. Ramen, brother Pastafarian.

By throwing out their sense of honesty. Creationists can and will say anything at all, no matter how far-fetched. Their belief in creationism has cost them their value for honesty. I think that's perhaps the biggest casualty of hardcore religion belief.

I believe God created.
Why can't things still evolve?
The Bible is not a science book.
I don't have all the answers, neither do you.
Difference is, my faith.

Read a Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, it explains it all.
Basically the question is, how long was a day to god during creation, you assume 24 hrs but it could have been a billion years!

They can't question the bible story. Their faith is a house of cards. Facts have to fit in their narrow perception of what the bible says.
