It depends on if its truly dandruff or if it is just a dry scalp condition. True dandruff is actually caused by a fungus and can be treated by a dermatologist, but like other fungi, it might return. If it's a dry scalp problem you can treat the scalp and with regular maintenance you should be able to keep the flakes at bay (you might want to check with someone at a healthfood store about some good supplements to help with dry scalp) here's my at home scalp treatment info:
Warm 2oz of olive oil, add 5 drops of lavendar oil and 5 drops of orange oil (if you can't find orange oil a little orange zest will work but you need to let the mixture rest for about 5 minutes before using then)shake together in a tint applicator bottle (about 2 bucks). Using a natural boar bristle brush, throughly brush scalp in an upward motion for about 5 minutes (you don't need to brush your scalp hard, just enough to feel it and get the blood circulating to the area more) then apply the oil just to the scalp using the the applicator, then massage the oils into your scalp for about 5 to 10 minutes. Let oils remain on scalp for another 10 minutes. Apply shampoo to scalp before wetting hair, then wet and work shampoo into a lather (it will not lather much due to the oil) rinse and shampoo hair again then condition. Doing this once or twice a month should make a big difference in your scalp's condition.

While dandruff is most commonly treated with special medicated shampoos, there are several steps a person can take to avoid developing dandruff in the first place. One helpful step is to learn to properly manage stress, as stress has an effect on a person’s overall health and makes it more likely for conditions such as dandruff to develop. In addition, stress can worsen dandruff symptoms in those who are already experiencing it. It is also important to shampoo regularly. Individuals with an oily scalp should shampoo every day in order to remove excess oil from the scalp that can lead to dandruff. Similarly, the amount of styling products used on the hair should be kept to a minimum, as they tend to build up in the hair and cause the scalp to become oily. Maintaining a healthy diet that includes whole grains, fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, and little lean protein can also be beneficial. In addition, it is best to avoid getting too much sun, but a little exposure to sunlight is helpful in preventing dandruff.

Try using an anti dandruff shampoo like Head & Shoulders, it reduces the flaking of dandruff and the itchiness caused by it. If the condition does not improve after using it for a few weeks, see a dermatologist then.

The faster way to really change the health of your hair is by taking supplements that work internally on the follicle where hair is made; that can only happen with systemically provided support, which means supplements that you take internally.. Keep in mind, regardless of how many or how much you take of any supplement, hair is never going to grow at a "Jack and the beanstalk" type of rate, the most you can hope for is to improve the strength and health of each hair follicle and to see an incremental increase in the rate of its growth

i wish! but sadly i dont think there is yet. But selson blue really works wonders, and after about a week using it everyday dandruff doesnt appear anymore. You kind of sound very concerned about it, so im guessing it's severe, go see a doctor they'll suggest some of the best shampoo's and medications for it. Make sure it's just dandruff and not somekind of fungus (hey!..it happens!)

Head and Sholders is good. Also one of the main causes of dandruff is not washing the shampoo or conditioner out of your hair. If you suffer from dry, ichy skin then you can go to any health store and ask for a vitamen suppliment or codliver oil tablets to help moisturize your skin.
