Or do you think he did the best he could have ?

Huh. Good question! I don't really know. Paradoxical kind of, because if you say that God couldn't have done a better job, then it means that this is the best He could do, and he couldn't make a more perfect place (thereby limiting His power). But if you say He could have made a better place, then it means that God is not all good as He has allowed evil to spill into the world and yet has not stopped it. The issue you bring up here is known in theology and philosophy as "theodicy" or, "the problem of evil". People have been trying to figure this one out for centuries. But then again I guess those people didn't have Yahoo! Answers! Good luck! :-)

What should/could he have done better at? If you are talking about all of the problems in the world well, God gave humans free will. There is also a such thing as satan interfering. God created everything to his own satisfaction. I think he did a wonderful Job. The earth isn't heaven, it isn't meant to be any more wonderful than what it is, maybe it used to be more beautiful, I am sure it did. Know what the problem is? Humans destroyed it! But believe me one thing is for sure, that maybe even if you don't think the earth is all it should be, heaven is and will be because God knows each of us, and for those of us that are there it will be everything we ever wanted and more because God has unlimited power. How is he going to match what everyone wants? Remember the part in the Bible about there are many mansions/rooms in heaven? Anyway I think this should answer your question, I hope.

In the name of Allah the most Gracious the most merciful.
God almighty is the creator of the heavens and the earth, and all that is in it above it and below it .Exalted is He above all that we attribute to him.He [glory be to him ] is the everliving the all subsisting, who needs no one but on whom everyone and everything depends upon.He is perfect in wisdom and
knowledge , the almighty the all wise and the best of creators.
Allah has created everything in perfection with wisdom and
knowledge and for a purpose. He[ glory be to him ] creates
what he wills and when he intends a thing all He says to it is
BE and it is This is your lord will you then not believe.

Brother MICHAEL has tried to show Gods perfection of the
creation From the Bible. The intention is very Good I admit,
but please be carefull when you try to prove something scientific from the Bible as we know unfortunately it is Full
of Human blunders which the educated will attribute to Almighty God.Take the example of the Creation from the
bible which brother Michael has reproduced;[Genisis book 1]
1]Light was created on the first Day; The cause of Light , stars, Sun, Moon etc were created on the Fourth Day?How
can light come into existance with the Sun, Moon etc/
2]The earth was created on the third day!How can you have a
day and night from the first day without the Roatation of Earth?
3]Earth was created on the third day, Sun and The Moon were created on the fourth Day , science tells us that the earth
is part of the parent body the sun, it cannot come into existance before the sun.
4]Vegetation , herbs, shrubs, were created on the 3rd day and sun on the 4th. day? How can vegetation come into existance before sun light which it depends upon?
5] It says that God has created all green plants to be eaten
do not we know that there are so many poisonous plants
which if eaten can cause death.?
6} It then says that God rested on the 7th. Day.Can a God get
tired or does a God need rest?
The Bible also tells us the earth is Flat when even a child
knows that the earth is round! These are amoung the Hundreds of scientific errors found in the bible that Have the
educated Person Disbelieve in the perfection of Almighty God.Can you blame God for these Blunders which the Human
hand have Made?
Regarding the Above theory The Quran agrees with the Big
bang Theory and tells us that the earth is Geospherical in
shape exactly like an egg of an ostrich which is the perfect
discription of the earth. If any one wants to prove the Perfection of Almighty God then He should do so From the
holy Quran because no one has been able to prove a single
fault in the Quran as it is the perfect words of Almighty God.

If you look around you , one finds everything created in perfect
Harmony, with each other. The solar system, the vast universe,
nature , the alternating of the day and the night, the different
species of plants Animals Birds, Fruits all in Different colours
Does the sun or the Moon overtake each other? All the creation testifies about the perfection and power of God
Almighty.I testy that there is only on God almighty !

Allah the Almighty God created the Angels, The Jinn and
Human beings. He the almighty did not Give the angels a Free
will they worship Allah [glory be to him]and never disobey Him. But Humans on the other hand have been created with a Free will and choice .If God so wanted He [ Glory be to him]
would have created everyone egual, following one religion and the earth would be aparadise of peace and comfort. But
since we have a free will to think and make choices, The life
of this world now becomes a test for the heareafter.God
could have left us roaming this earth in our ignorance, arrogance and sin and we would have been completely lost
had it not been the Mercy of Allah the Merciful, who began to
send us Messengers and revelations, to worship Him alone
and to follow His commandments so that we could be rightly
guided to eaternal life after death and save us fron the punishment of the fire of hell.

God almighty only intends good for man, what ever bad or evil
we incure is with our own hands and then we blame God for
it.Yes God does try us with Trials like natural disasters as
an adomonation to take heed , death, sickness, loss of wealth
etc , to test our faith, and to see which of us is patient and best in deeds.Allah is most kind to his slaves and answers us
whenever we call out to Him in distress ,He rejoices whenever
we repent and comes running towards us when ever we go
walking towards him,This is our lord Generoous and kind but
man is ungrateful to Him and worships other Gods besides
him and have thrown His commandments aside for the
pleasures of this world. These are some of the teachings of
islam To worship the lord our God and submit to his will and
command and you will find perfection in everything you seen.
we ask Allah the almighty to guide us all to the truth.

Friend,

Why blame GOD for the things we do?

Name the things that are bad and you think God created them.

You will yourself know God never created anything bad.It is the man,our evil mind that creates all nonsense and we attribute this to HIM.

Try and see for your self.

May God Bless you.

The best thing God has done is creation of human beings and the worst thing is giving them the consciousness.

Ø He hardened Pharaoh’s heart, thereby taking responsibility for Pharaoh’s actions, but turned round to punish Pharaoh’s family, his household, his innocent people, the livestock, plants, rivers and the entire land!
Ø He encouraged the notoriously wicked and devilish acts of slavery and slave trading, as he gave "his people" laws about buying slaves and branding them by drilling hole in their ears!! (Exodus 21)
Ø He often showed vindictiveness and cruelty, as he smote his people with “a great plague” for desiring a change of food from manna! (Num. 11:33)
Ø He demanded human sacrifice (Lev.27:28-29), and actually acquiesced to the sacrifice of Jephthah’s only child as burnt offering!! (Judges 11:30-39).
Ø This same god, in order to win a detestable bet with his arch-rival, Satan, condoned the killing of Job’s ten innocent children, his servants and livestock, all on the same day! (Job 1).
Ø He often showed partiality, as he said: “Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated” even without cause! He killed a man for daring to support the Ark of Covenant to prevent it from falling over! Yet he spared David (a man after his heart) for committing adultery (with Uriah’s wife) and murder (of Uriah himself)! Rather David’s innocent child was killed for his father’s sin!!
Ø And the clincher of the trophy for infamy: Can any injustice be greater than this? Have a look: “And the Lord sent pestilence upon Israel”, killing seventy thousand men (II Samuel 24:15). But for what? For a sin they committed? No! But for a sin committed by David, their king! Ah! And what is this mortal “sin”? one might ask: David numbered the people of Israel!! Seventy (not tens, not hundred) thousand innocent men were slaughtered without counting the supposedly inconsequential women and children!! And wait for it: the census that led to this horrendous massacre was done at the instance of this same god!!! (verse 1) because, as they say “his mercy endures for ever”. Read the whole story honestly and numerous others in the books of Joshua, Judges, Samuel, Kings, and Chronicles, and you will feel nothing but blood-cuddling horror at the acts of this “blood demanding” god!

Oh, certainly he could have done better with omniscience and omnipotence at his disposal!

If giving His Son up as a sacrifice to redeem man from all sins is not the best, then what else is ? For God so loved the world...

Aww, don't be so hard on God. He's only omnipotent, omniscient, immortal, and perfect. Maybe he'll do better next time.

He did a perfect job.

The problem that I think people have is that they expect God to do what they expect. He doesn't I think partially because He can see around the corners we cannot. Some of us judge Him because we can only see what we see.

We have a choice; either trust Him, or don't trust Him. Those that trust Him are doing what He told us to, those that don't trust Him are not going along with Him, and therefore are against Him.
