Love is a deep conviction, it believes all things, hopes all things, it never fails, you feel a strong connection with someone, it's something that you can't really put into to words, but it's totally different from infatuation because infatuation is like cheap perfume or cologne, it wears off quick and you can detect it almost immediately. Love is felt at all times even when there are disagreements, because subconsciously your emotions continue to run high for that person. Hope this helps.

I'm still trying to understand that myself.
Perhaps this is a step in the right direction:
Love is based on sacrifice; that is, giving to the other person, even to the point of not having enough for oneself. To put it in the most extreme way possible, the ultimate love is demonstrated through death for another person's sake. I don't know if you believe the Bible, but this is what Christ Jesus demonstrated for us in His undeserved death.
By contrast, I think infatuation is associated with wanting to take, rather than give. If you're infatuated with someone, I suppose you want them...you don't want to give yourself (your time, energy, resources, etc.) to them, but you want to take theirs from them. Also, it seems infatuation is more temporary than love, although this is a useless point if you are in the midst of one or the other.
One thing I read once to distinguish love from other things said this: Would you still love them if they wore their hair a different way, or if they wore different clothes, or if they lost their ability to do something or another? Perhaps these questions are useful.
May God bless you, and lead you to the truth.

Infatuation is a temporary phase when you want to see that person always, think about him/her, imagine him/her, want to be close to that person.. and after some time the feeelings fade away.
Love is different.. It is of mutual care and respect for each other

thats one of those things you have to discover on your own, people have different ways of taking things so your signs of love of infatuation may be different from mine.
