Basically depends how big a cup we are talking about. If its any help,half a gallon is 4 pints.

1 cup = 8 ounces
8 ounces per cup X 8 cups = 64 ounces = 1/2 gallon

um 8 oz to a cup
2 cups to a pint 16 oz
2 pints to a half gallon "8 cups" 32 0z
and 2 half gallons to a gallon 64 oz
thats "16" cups to a gallon
metric converstion is a bit different

Well, half a gallon is four pints, so find how many cups make up a pint and quadruple it.
It does, of course, depend on how big your cups are! See how many you can pour into a milk bottle.
We only have half-pint mugs here, so I can't check for you!
