Ok,

you want to save cord blood stem cells - NOI one knows if they will be worth anything in 3 or 6 or 10 years, let alone 20 or 30.

And it is a lot of $$ to keep them in storage.

For a Stem cell transplant - self - which is a very good treatment for a couple fo cancers (that you don't get till you are at lest 30) the ones you have work just fine.

This is an area tha that needs a lot more research, so if you have th $$ and want ot be in a study - great!

Other wise not sure if it will help,

You can preserve cord blood/cells, I beleive its expensive but it could save the childs life or your own if you are a match. Cord blood can be used in stem cell transplants (commonly known as bone marrow transplants). You would have to look into other uses as this is the one I know of.

Another thing to consider is donating the cord blood/cells to maybe save someone else's life. I beleive this is a free service which it should be.

Who knows what can be done with it 10 to 20 years down the track.

Actually, my adjunct proff worked for MD Anderson Cancer Center in the research department for over 20 years. He said that adult stem cells are more promising in their research than embryonic. They are undergoing research on diabetes and he said that they are using adult stem cells only. It is still good to save your cord in case embryonic research speeds up the process.

The purest source appears to be the umbilical cord. We would be wise to "harvest" and preserve them for future use. Umbilical cords injure no one, and are considered "waste", so why not make use of them?

It could be, if the religious wackos don't run the government anymore. And yes, core blood should be saved.

Do it, in case your baby might need it later. You never know. They say it may be used to cure certain disorders.
