One thing about the bible is that if it happened in the bible it can happen again. God is not a respecter of persons. If He did it for Paul, He will do it for somebody else. I have heard many testimonies about people leaving their bodies and going into heaven, but somethings they could not talk about when they came back to their body. One time, I had the most awesome experience. I felt something zipping back and forth across my body. It felt so awesome. When I lifted up my head, I did not see anything. When I set my head back down, there was a man dress in white sitting by head. I could see Him, but my eyes were closed. I knew this was the Lord. I could see His body up to His shoulders, but I could not see His face. He bent over and whispered in my ear, "Prophecies and prophecies are about to be fulfilled". He continued to speak but His voice went silent. When I woke up that morning I was speechless and the joy of that experience was so great, I ran outside around a building in circles. I know people thought I was crazy. But the experience was greater than anything you could experience in this world.

It was common for early Christians to even resurrect the dead; not that common you'll say, but it did happen, even after Christ died and returned to his heavenly Father...
Could it be because they had been so close to Jesus who was so perfect and powerful? I don't know everything, especially at 4:30AM...
but for almost 2,000 years, I haven't heard of any man doing such a thing.
I think it is because what happened then was a sort of shadow of the things to come
when all would be happily resurrected and benefiting from the miracles and his disciples did then on a small scale.

Having visions from God can happen today just as they did in biblical times. To deny that they can happen would be to deny to power of God. But would anyone believe somebody that said that they had a vision from God? Non-believers of the bible would just say that anyone who claims to have visions from God is making it up, and believers in the bible would not believe the person because they would say these things do not happen any more, or that the vision was from the devil. There would be relatively few people that would believe somebody when they say they have had a vision from God.
Maybe this has already happened?

Yes. When I was baptised by the Spirit. That's when I gave my life over to God, I couldn't do crap with it anyway. lol
There was rejoicing and for years I thought that it was because of me being saved. But when I think about it, it was actually praise for God, probably because I was then saved.
He really eminates love, you know. It's so without strife and it's all about contentment. I want to be there again, even for a moment like last time.
I've slept in His prescence a few times as well. He makes me feel so comfortable. I knew that nothing bad was going to happen to me.
Well, I'm babbling. I hope that you've had those experiences too.

I had a vision once, it's what made me go to church and accept Jesus in front of 700 people. :) Shortly after I accepted Him, I became ill and could no longer do the job I was doing where I was getting answers from a coworker about things. Maybe...3 weeks before my illness struck my coworker gave me my first bible, it was a birthday gift from his daughter. (he kept his because of the passages he had highlighted, etc from study)
In the vision I had, I sat at a wooden table with 6 other men, 1 was at the head of the table, the other 5 were seated as I was. None of these men had faces, but I could feel the one at the head staring at me. I looked around the room and saw things were crude, nothing like we have these days. The bowls and such on the table were made of wood and clay, we sat on the floor and had pillows to recline on. I began to study the others at the table and thought to myself "If they don't have a face, what do I look like? Who am I?" and I was answered "You are Thomas."
I returned to work the next day and asked my coworker who Thomas was, he pulled out the bible he ended up giving me and showed me. My coworker said that morning he had this really strong feeling to grab THAT bible and take it with him, even though he had his own in the car. It wasn't until I showed up and asked that he understood. He showed me what Thomas said about putting his finger in the holes of Jesus side and hands, and I had a hard time breathing because I wanted proof just as he did. I was willing to accept the truth, but I had to be shown beyond doubt. To be called Thomas in a vision and then have it pointed out what Thomas said the very next day without prior knowledge is....spooky. I praise the Lord every time I remember what He did to bring me to Him.

I'm sure it can happen now - but I don't believe that the "standard" doctrine is going to lead anyone into that kind of depth. I believe you would need to widen your scope and forget a great deal of what you have been told by people who have no more idea than you - rely on only what can be known directly and accept only what is real.

I have not personally experienced this, no. Incidentally, you might enjoy reading, "Heaven--Close Encounters of the God Kind" by Jesse Duplantis. Any Christian book store should be able to get it for you.

I actually had an experience while undergoing serious surgery, from a serious auto accident, in which I had a type of out-of -body experience and was with Jesus, but not in heaven.

At the church I attend,a lot of us have experienced God speaking to us in visions and dreams.Often,God will reveal things to me in prayer. But if you want to know the truth,a lot of the more conservative ''christians'' are too suspicious of this to allow God's grace to enter their lives in this way.Guys,God is only waiting for you to let Him in.Why don't you open yourselves to Him?
