you shouldn't feel bad. you were the one that was in the room first. he should know better than to disrupt someone who is working, you are not being rude, he is. if his tv isn't working, he should either have it fixed or go buy himself a new one. remember, this is your home, as well as his, and you shouldn't have to move where you are sitting just because they want your seat where is the respect in that. i'm sure he would not want you to do that to him.

Victoria, I am sorry to hear that there is a bit of disrespect in your house---but a 33 year old will never move out if mom is dottering and spoiling him---why should he go?? trouble is he will never learn how to peacefully co-exist with a woman on a mature level...what a shame. You are also witnessing a bit of crude disrespectful behavior that comes from being family and living together all these years. To an outsider this all sounds terrible--to you and your brother it is just day to day living. So say no if you have to--he won't explode or turn blue.
Relax, be cool, be nice, and good luck-----SMILE

Since it really wouldn't matter where you were doing your invoices and stuff and the TV in his room wasn't working and the TV in that room was, I would say you were being a spoiled brat. How old did you say you were? Sounds like a 10 year old to me.

Your brother should grow up and stop behaving in that manner. You should not fell bad but you should not give him a chance to behave that way towards you.If one day you agree to move from your sitting position and you do it he will take advantage of you and it is not good.
Try to ask him if he would like you to respect him and if he says yes ask him to respect you first as that's how it works___Respecting each other.

33 yrs old???????? it's time for him to grow up and move on! You have a right to sit where you want to sit. Have you tried talking to your Parents about this?

Do one thing............look for a place in your house where you can work with free mind i.e. no one will disturbe you. After this, if he still do this, then you can feel bad. But please choose a place for yourself.
