I ask another question because I am in total crisis...
To make things clear, I live in Malta (Europe), I am 17 years old, and this country is turning me into a real crazy person!
Alright, so, as so many of you adviced, I phoned the suicidal hotline here because of my parents... there is only one hotline here, and most of the times the line is busy, or they don't respond.
I also took my sister to the police and she burst into tears in front of them but they didn't care.
Well, briefly this hotline finally betrayed me after spending a night out because I don't want to be in this house, it sent police after me not a social worker, and the police threatened me that they would send me to a mental hospital and they don't believe me on anything I told them about my parents, and last night he was going to kill me if I left him come in here, I ran away from the police station now after wasting many hours there for nothing, and don't know what to do, I'm desperate, I got no one to turn to...

I just read your other question too. go to a hospital or church.
I was in this situation (abusive home). I ran a long way away and I can honestly say it was the best thing I ever did. It takes a long time to rebuild your life, but if it is truely as bad as you say, you must leave. Your sisters safety is in your hands.

I can only go by the laws that I am under, but if anyone rings a hotline and threatens suicide it is the police that come, and if you do it on a regular basis they will try and get you committed to a mental hospital, and it is for your safety. If things are that bad at home, you need to talk about what is happening with a trusted friends parent, your school counsellor or perhaps a trusted relative. You are too young to leave home, your parents can list you as missing. You could also ring your local hospital and ask to see a social worker.

Go into the woods or a church, someplace where you can be alone and cry your heart out, sometime tears do wonders. Stay there until you are calm and have thought things through. Is there any one at your school you can talk to, if not decide that you are going to pull this off yourself. I really don't know about the problem with your parents. Maybe there is just a misunderstanding between the two of you. What ever your sisters problem is she has to be ready to face up to it or you can't help her. So at least take care of your self. If you have to leave, do so but try and keep in touch with her. Pray. If you can't save her at this time at least save yourself. Best luck and take care. There are a lot of people out here who do care for you, but we are totally helpless. All we can do is pray. God less you.

It sounds very horrible, and clearly you are extremely distressed by whatever is going on. But we don't know what's going on. At 17 I would have thought you were old enough to leave home without the police coming after you. But it is home that's the problem or is it the country? Why did you take your sister to the police? Did your parents hurt her? Who was going to kill you? Your father, the police officer?

I can see this situation is very frightening for you but it's impossible to help or even offer advice when we have no idea what's happening.

OK OK slow down and take a moment to reflect on your situation. What are your parents doing to you that its making you feel the need to run away or worst still end your life. The police are of no help so stop wasting your time with them, have you any family, like a favorite aunt that you can turn to? are you at college/uni? may be you can talk with your teachers, they will be able to help you and find a safe place for you. Any church? Malta is well known for their religion in Malta surely they can help you. promise me one thing....you wont give up and you will seek help. its there you just need to find it. Good luck. I wish I was there to help you.

I do feel for you, stuff happens and gets out of control. But I'll tell you what I do. I works, . I pray, I pray real hard. I pray that I will have the strength to pull me thru. I pray that I will get the help I need, I believe that I will get help. You have to believe that there is a good world out there. Believe, pray, have faith. Sounds silly to a young one like you, but I've been there too. I asked the 'gods' whoever they are to come to my rescue, I asked them to give me the INTUITION to know what to do, what to say, who to see. I asked that I will not do anything stupid and that everything will turn out fine. I believed what I was praying for. Boy... what amazing things happen when you believe and become positive. Calm down, meditate and pray. I have sent a prayer out for you. :) +

Have you tried seeing a psychiatrist? Try talking to him/her about a drug known in the U.S. as Xanax. However I don't know what they call it in Malta so if your talking to your psychiatrist call it by its chemical name Alprazolam. That medicine will do wonders against your panic attack. SO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH A PSYCHIATRIST AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! Also try getting cognitive therepy as well.

Why don't you go to a church and try to speak to a priest of councilor ? I asked my sister and she told me that there is a number (freephone) 179. Why don't you try to phone this number dear. Take care...and fetch help asap.
