Is there a difference between being unhappy and falling out of love. I think that if you fall out of love then those feelings can't be changed, but if you feel unhappy with something in the relationship then there is always a possibility in working things out if you want it to work. What do you think?

My ex dumped me 3 months ago saying that he was unhappy but doesn't know why , but knows that he doesn't feel the same way for me anymore. Is he confused about the difference of these two concepts, i thought that if he wanted to make it work (which he stated) then he would of done something but he didn't, or could it be that he is hiding the truth?

If he says he is unhappy he either found someone else who interests him and you are not as exciting for him anymore or you are just not the one for him. I wouldn't waste my time on him if I were you. If this is a new relationship and you already have to work things out it's probably not going to last. Now if you've been together a long time then I would say he just doesn't understand that relationships take work. Either way he's not willing to do what it takes to be with you so move on. If it's meant to be he'll come crawling back realizing his mistake.

being unhappy could mean a lot of things. There's so many reasons for not being happy, not being satisfied. Falling out of love just revolves around the matter of love. You could still be in love but unhappy probably with the situation. You could love a person but had to let go because of some circumstance. like he must leave the country, or probably being together is not the best option at that time for the both of you, could be financial situation, could be personal reasons, health or family reasons, being unhappy could mean a lot but if that person said that he/she's not in love anymore then that's it. period.

i agree with you. unhappiness and falling out of love are two different things, but i think that your discription of the difference is too vague, but i cannot make the distinction between the two any better than you can hopefully someone comes along and reads my response and is able to give you better distinction between falling out of love and being unhappy.

Bottom line, he's just shittin you. He found someone else... stop kiddin yourself you will not get back together. And even if I'm wrong, my theory is that if you want something.... give something. I get so sick of people crying "my marriage just isn't the same anymore". Well then do something about it. Stop waiting on your spouse to fix it. If the romance is gone then do something romantic. If you just have a need for some freak sex, then jump in the bed with you spouse and get freaky. Stop waiting on someone else to fix your problems. And If he can't do that, then you really don't need him.

I don't believe that you can all of a sudden just stop loving someone. No matter what happens In a crazy way you will always have some kind of love for that person. So he must have been in lust with you not love. And there is a big difference there.

Being unhappy with your life doesn't mean that u're also falling out of love.Sometimes if u share ur problem with your love ones,u tend to be more close to each other.Love makes u happy. If u're falling out of love meaning that u have no love for ur love ones anymore...maybe u're bored or etc..In that case, u need to brighten up ur relationship. If he did nothing to it meaning that he doesn't care anymore. If he loves u, one day he'll find u.If there's still love among each other...don;t be afraid...it won't go anywhere....u're meant for each other...just be patient...give him some time...

Maybe he is wanting something else in his life and you don't fit into that puzzle and this is his little nice way of being respectful when moving on.
I think you need to let him go, your only setting yourself up for more heart ache down the road.

If you fall out of love then it was never real love in the first place. I don't know what his particular thing is... I hope he'll try to work things out. Good luck.
