If you were to explain computers to your 2 year old, you would likely weave a similarly fantastic tale.

Religious dogma is ineffable Truth conceptualized for human understanding, distorted over thousands of years by those who never understood the message to begin with. The result is the obvious and endless paradoxes of Religion.

However, the Truth remains at the core of all spiritual beliefs, and this is why they don't collapse from the weight of their own nonsense.

That Truth can't be contained in 1000 posts, but we can take a stab at the pointed question above.
1) Humanity is an expression of divinity, and so the Truth is found within every human. When a human finds it, he knows himself to be that for which he seeks. This is what is meant by Jesus being God. The essence of every human is this same God. There is no personal God. There is only that which peers through the eyes of every human and causes every heart to beat. This Is what You ARE.

2) The meaning of "Save" is simply to assist humanity in recognizing this divinity within. This recognition is the end of struggle for the one who realizes this. Thousands of prophets, teachers, gurus and spiritual leaders, both present and past, have realized exactly this.

3) The whole 'dying on the cross' business is very dramatic and best ignored all together. It makes for good 'press' but lousy theology.

We are eternal beings just as the God Himself. Nothing is created by God. Every thing what we see today is eternal.

And you will be a fool if you ponder over, what was before eternity.

So the point is that we were always there and by the same logic will always exist.

Can we be happy in our existence eternally is the question?

Only God has the power to present this eternal world in different forms from time to time. And He has the power to fit us into different bodies. When we get into human bodies, we have the necessary instruments in it to know the God.

Having known Him, we will not ask such questions!

God sacrificed Himself not to save us from the place He created but to bridge the gap between man and God. Man is incapable of maintaining a perfect covenant with God so God became man and created a perfect covenant to provide that bridge. In effect, He sacrificed Himself to save us from ourselves not the place we live.

Kinda silly aint it? God thirds himself, lets the cut off third commit suicide to appease his pain because he screwed up and his creations sinned. He should have known before he even created that his creations would sin and having a third of himself commit suicide would be all in vain.

Basically god is either a moron or the bible story is just that a poorly thought out story.. I'm going with the poorly thought out story since it contains a multitude of other contradictory illogical stories.

Jesus sacrificed himself to save us from OURSELVES. We are infected with sin because of what those before us did, we inherited it, not by choice. Sin will be destroyed, and if you have it, you go with it. If you don't let God clean you of it, when he throws out the sin, you tag along for the ride. He is going to get rid of all sin, are you going to let it stay attached to you, or will you let Him separate you from it? He's asking if you will let Him take it from you, if you don't answer or so no, He won't step in as it was your choice.

Please follow the argument below:

1. God exists.
2. God is infinite
3. God is holy
4. God is righteous
5. Therefore, God is infinitely holy and just.

6. Furthermore, God speaks out of the character of what He is.
7. God spoke the Law
8. Therefore, the Law is in the heart of God and is a reflection of God's character since it is Holy and good.

9. Furthermore, to break the Law of God is to offend Him since it is His Law that we break. This sin results in an infinite offense because God is infinite.
10. Furthermore, it is also right that God punish the Law breaker. To not punish the Law breaker (sinner) is to allow an offense against His holiness to be ignored.

11. God says that the person who sins must die (be punished). The wages of sin is death.
12. The sinner needs to escape the righteous judgment of God or he will face damnation.
13. But, no sinner can undo an infinite offense since to please God and make things right, he must obey the Law, which is the standard of God's righteous character.
14. But the sinner cannot fulfill the law because he is sinful (in the flesh).
15. Since the sinner cannot fulfill the law and satisfy God, it follows that only God can do this.

16. Jesus is God in flesh.
17. Jesus was also a man under the Law.
18. Jesus became sin for us and bore our sins in His body on the cross, thus fulfilling the Law.
19. Therefore, salvation is by grace through faith since it was not by our keeping the Law, but by Jesus, God in flesh, who fulfilled the Law and died in our place.

No. But you will believe what you will.

Saving is from your nature and not the future. There is no supposedly about it. The sacrifice was to restore us to eternal life which is in Him, the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the tree that stood in the Garden from the beginning.

If you reference is to hell, know this. The gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus. Without that life no one can live eternally anywhere, let alone in hell; which was prepared for the devil and his angels and not for mankind.

I think so. It doesn't really make sense to me. Now if Jesus was just an ordinary guy, then I would believe the he did it for God and not because he is God.

Praise be to Allah.

I swear by the only God (Allah), this is a very bad thing to believ about the one who CREATED us,
How dare you guys say that Allah sacrified???!!!

Read these butiful noble verses from the Qur'aan as Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“That is Allaah, your Lord, the Creator of all things, Laa ilaaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). How then are you turning away (from Allaah, by worshipping others instead of Him)?
[Ghaafir 40:62]

"- Allah is He, than Whom there is no other god;- Who knows (all things) both secret and open; He, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
- Allah is He, than Whom there is no other god;- the Sovereign, the Holy One, the Source of Peace (and Perfection), the Guardian of Faith, the Preserver of Safety, the Exalted in Might, the Irresistible, the Supreme: Glory to Allah! (High is He) above the partners they attribute to Him.
- He is Allah, the Creator, the Evolver, the Bestower of Forms (or Colours). To Him belong the Most Beautiful Names: whatever is in the heavens and on earth, doth declare His Praises and Glory: and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise."
[al-Hashr 59:22-24]

“Had there been therein (in the heavens and the earth) aalihah (gods) besides Allaah, then verily, both would have been ruined. Glorified be Allaah, the Lord of the Throne, (High is He) above all that (evil) they associate with Him!”
[al-Anbiya’ 21:22]

“Say (O Muhammad): Praise and thanks be to Allaah, and peace be on His slaves whom He has chosen (for His Message)! Is Allaah better, or (all) that you ascribe as partners (to Him)?” (Of course, Allaah is Better).

Is not He (better than your gods) Who created the heavens and the earth, and sends down for you water (rain) from the sky, whereby We cause to grow wonderful gardens full of beauty and delight? It is not in your ability to cause the growth of their trees. Is there any ilaah (god) with Allaah? Nay, but they are a people who ascribe equals (to Him)!

Is not He (better than your gods) Who has made the earth as a fixed abode, and has placed rivers in its midst, and has placed firm mountains therein, and has set a barrier between the two seas (of salt and sweet water)? Is there any ilaah (god) with Allaah? Nay, but most of them know not!

Is not He (better than your gods) Who responds to the distressed one, when he calls on Him, and Who removes the evil, and makes you inheritors of the earth, generations after generations? Is there any ilaah (god) with Allaah? Little is that you remember!

Is not He (better than your gods) Who guides you in the darkness of the land and the sea, and Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy (rain)? Is there any ilaah (god) with Allaah? High Exalted be Allaah above all that they associate as partners (to Him)!

Is not He (better than your so‑called gods) Who originates creation, and shall thereafter repeat it, and Who provides for you from heaven and earth? Is there any ilaah (god) with Allaah? Say: ‘Bring forth your proofs, if you are truthful’”

[al-Naml 27:59-64]
