It is actually almost necessary. Unlike weight lifting, yoga does not need breaks for your body to recover. You could do yoga everyday. Yoga is excellent for toning but does not burn as many calories as perhaps you could be looking for in a workout routine.

Cardio should be done at least 3 times a week in addition to a yoga routine if you are hoping to lose weight. And their is no reason that cant be done everyday.
