Yeah...my first dr. didn't believe it. It's funny how doctors really think that people grow out of ADD after the age of 18.
You should get a second opinion.

believe me I understand. I went to a doctor before because I feel I have clinical deppression. Yet the doctor didn't believe in such a thing , especially because of my age of being my 20's.
All he said was his theory, that people get deppressed blah bl;ah blah and that I need to get out. blah blah...
Not just that, but recently I was in the hospital , and for reasons because of deppression, i have no medical insurance right now.
and so , before he even treated me ( i had not eaten in a few days and needed to be treated), he made me feel as though i should have stayed home and died, because he "wasn't getting paid for this visit".
Yet of course a month later i get a bill for 160 dollars for a half hour visit , which the doctor only saw me for a few seconds.
Honestly, Doctor s are not in the proffession they should be. They, like most human's, are ruled by money.
First off, if the government really cared, no one would need to sign up for Any health stuff, instead anybody whom walked into a doctor s office, would get treated.
Plus, Doctor s should HAVE to take some sort of spirituall course or spychology course or SOMTHING to make there hearts bigger then there Ego.
I personallly, wish I were not here on earth, with the way society is.
Recently, my ex-wife and I broke up and she seemed too happy bout it, wants the divorce papers signed. which to me is no surprise, cause i left her , knowing in my heart that she cheated on me more then once. I am happy to not be with her anymore.
Yet deppression, has rulled my life long. Yet, I do not seem to have the courage to get my medical insurance sorted so that I can perhaps see a doctor and see if the Basta$d will believe me or not.
Well I ve talked too much.
i m tired. i wish i were home in heaven.

I don't know what makes you so sure that you do have ADD, but I would be inclined to say that your doctor is probably right. ADD is so widely overdiagnosed that it's very unlikely that a doctor will fail to diagnose it when it really is there. It's normal to have trouble paying attention sometimes, particularly to things you find uninteresting. A lot of times people believe they have ADD when really it's just that their expections for what is normal to be able to pay attention to are too high.
If you could be more specific about why you think that you have ADD then I might be able to say something more useful. But for now, all I have to go on are generalizations, and statistically speaking, it's a lot more likely that you would believe you have ADD when you don't than that your doctor would decide you don't have it when you really do. If you go to enough doctors, you'll eventually find one who will say you have ADD, but that definitely doesn't mean that the first doctor was wrong. If you asked enough doctors, you could find one who would diagnose ADD even in the most focused and attentive person in the world. It's so widely overdiagnosed that if you really want someone to say you have it, it's not that hard to do, but having one doctor say that you do have it doesn't mean that you really do.
___
P.S. I looked at your past questions, and I noticed that you were previously diagnosed with depression and anxiety, which could well be the reason that your doctor doesn't think you have ADD. Depression can cause inattentive symptoms similar to those of ADD, and the diagnostic criteria for ADHD specify that the symptoms are not better accounted for by another disorder. You can find the diagnostic criteria for ADHD here: http://www.mentalhealth.com/dis1/p21-ch01.html
(note that what's commonly refered to as ADD is properly called ADHD, predominantly inattentive type).

I thought I had ADHD and I went to get tested but after the test results, he said he didn't think so
Right at this moment I am jittery in my chair
alot of times it helps to go runing and move, but unfortunately a few minutes after, i get restless again
some doctors are completely clueless, you know yourself best, maybe look up the symptoms a little more and self diagnose then If you still think you have it, go to a different doctor who might be more open to possibilities
Good luck!

So, get a second opinion.
(I disagreed with the opinion of the person testing my daughter.)

Your doctor is correct. ADD is a myth, instigated by the education system as a distraction for their own failing and miserable schooling methods.
It is on the level of Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, Global Warming and Post Partum Depression, which also are not real.
