Jesus came to the boat walking on the water. Peter asked if he could do it too and Jesus said, "come on."
Jesus is the enabler. If He says you can walk on water, you can. Without Him telling me to, I wouldn't try it.

What strikes me is how human beings have problem believing Jesus walked on water, became water into wine, yet settle for that he's God interior the flesh and is able to talking the cosmos into actual being with a be conscious, and saving humanity mutually with his blood.

The 'son' who 'walks on water' is a corruption of the 'sun' which walks on water.
The sun god, Isis/Osiris, walks on water in the evening as the sun sets. This was misidentified by the gospel writer in the little vignette (didja ever notice how all the Jesus stories are little disjointed vignettes, with no rhyme, reason, or continuity?) about the Sea of Gallilee.
So, anytime you want to see the sun 'walk on the water' go out to any body of water which will catch the rays of the setting sun.

well not really walk on water but I can ski on water. If you go fast enough you CAN walk on water, albeit for about 2 seconds and you fall into the water. When something is going REALLY fast and hits water, water acts like concrete, so you get hit pretty hard. Which is why people can water ski, they're going really fast and moving on water.

It is possible to manipulate water with the very thoughts of your mind (See What the #$*! Do We (K)now!?: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0399877/ ) - however not much can be accomplished without a great deal of focus / meditation / willpower / endurance. Even so, I doubt that even the Dali Lama would have the mind to actually walk on liquid water.

I think it is a possibility in the supernatural realm, though I've never tried it.
Peter did it until he looked at his surroundings and saw the wind blowing and the waves getting bigger. He took his eyes off Jesus and lost his faith and allowed fear to set in.
Isn't that like us today?
