I want to travel in Canada to visit my common law partner. I don't have a required amount in my account, but my sister will give me some money if my visa gets approved. Do you think it is fine?

It really depends of which country are you from? Thus, it also depends on a lot of other documents you going to enclose in the application. (At least, you must show a lot of proof for your commonlaw relationship with your partner.)

If you're just visiting they aren't going to check your bank account. If you're applying for a visa that lists monetary requirements they're going to check it before you get approved...

“Bank statement for the last six months” is mandatory for many European countries while submitting the visa application, whether it is visit or residence. Recently my visa application has been rejected from the UK embassy for the same reason.

Try your best, good luck.

I would stay in the U.S. Have your common law partner come here.
