I am looking for some ideas on how I can go about getting more exposure while not cleaning out the bank account. It is a Mixed Martial Arts event and going to be a rather nice size venue (2,000 plus seats) just looking to see what the brainstorming can achieve

Thanks for your time

Have a month and a half before the event date, thinking local flea market/swap meet, county fair, student fair (college), meet and greets prior to the event (for the fighter's and local fan base), and also cinco de mayo parties (parks and fiesta places)

you can start with newspapers. Most area papers have an EVENTS section and will post your event for free.

be sure to make it factual without promotional lingo otherwise it looks like you want a free ad.

then try listing it on event sites.

how about posters or better yet- "yard signs" or "job site signs" (you can find them really cheap online in the smaller size and buy in bulk quantity, just google job site signs to start) - then one night go out with some buddies and put them at a lot of major intersections

Word-of-mouth is always good and can reach a lot of people for no cost.

Then there's trade shows... get a booth somewhere and have info and people at the booth that will attract attention to inform others about the event. or advertising at the local mall.

Mass emails, flyers, banners 'n stuff could also work.

Good luck and have fun!

Print some bright colourful poster (not too big) and ask local retailers if you can put them up in their store (be careful not to put them up illegally - you'll be fined), try talking to local radio stations, especially community based ones, you may have luck there. Give posters or brochure to local community groups. Try getting a sponsor to helppay for the printing offering them free space on the poster for their sponsorship. Membersof your club etc should be able to help in distribution by word of mouth. Good luck...

Stand naked on the corner of a busy intersection and hand out flyers, you'll get attention, and people will remember you.
