I cant get anything to work in Adobe Premiere 6.0 i keep getting a x on the preview!?

Please help me, I need help with video editing, of course lol using premium it has to be video...lol anyways, when i do anything, an effect, a transition, i get an x on the preview on the top left cornered, and it wont show it. please help me. please?

did you know you can go to adobe premier user group and get these question answered quickly
go to adobe premier website and look for forums and user groups
