Depends when you say like do you mean love???
I wouldn't change my life for someone i like but if i really loved them and the thought of not being with them made you feel sick then i would do whatever it takes.
Good luck

I'm female so from my standpoint I think it would be more difficult for a female to just up and go to another country than it would be for a male to do that. In addition for me I'd think if say you were say 23 as opposed to age 33 or older, each level would mean a different scenario. At 23 you might go to another country to get more education or in a different specialty or maybe learn exporting skills or sociology skills while you were seeing your girlfriend and maybe even learn a new language and do some traveling when you first get there and then settle into a job for a year or so to see how you like it there. If you're young enough you might even try the hostels.
If you were say age 33 and frankly can't find a girl you like in your own country then maybe just take a vacation to the new country and meet the girl's parents and relatives, see if you like the new language (if it's different from where you live now), see if you like the traditions and can agree with them, etc. test the waters before you jump in with both feet
You used the word "like" this girl, not something like "engaged" or "like with an eye toward marriage" so I'm wondering why you would go if you only "liked" someone.
It depends too on how long you have been on the job and in your career field, and even depends on which career you have chosen for yourself, and it depends like for instance if you're into computers and you're asked to come to India then a trip and learning experience and some schooling there might boost your career if you decide to return to the US but you would be earning less there in India and would have to adjust to that as well. People can adjust to new friends, how to get around in a city, etc. but being without family is very difficult. You'd probably experience culture shock if you just "moved" to a different country. Remember that the divorce rate is high these days and you'll need your family, and, you more than likely would want to save your money in the best possible place. Since the female usually moves to live with the male I'd be wondering why it is you who would be doing the moving. Or maybe I misunderstood and you and your girlfriend want to move to another country together. In that case it would be just like moving around with the military. You adjust accordingly in that case, but in the military you're always thinking that you'll be moving again soon and have to mentally stay fluid.

It would depend on the oppurtunities in the other country there for me as if the relationship didn't work out i would need to know I could give it a go standing on my own 2 feet out there before coming back home

I wouldnt go for a guy I LIKED but if I was head over heels in love - then I may consider it - but Id have to be 10000% sure that he felt the same way - and also he'd have to have a really good reason for not being able to move over to me!

Hmm...I definitely would. There could be many more jobs in a different country, and you'd be with the girl you like. :D

Like is not enough......... Love? Now that is different. When my wife and I became engaged I told her that I would live on Mars if that is where she wanted to be... we fell short of Mars and landed in Sacramento. Just as hot as Mars, but not as hot as she is!
