I am from a latin country and when i came here everything was different!!.. I have a 'friend' that I like, we hooked up a couple of times and he told me he likes me, the problem is that he doesn't ask me to be his girlfriend... I think that he just likes me as a 'friend'... but some friends tell me that guys from usa are like that. is there any guy who wants to explain this to me?

that would violate the man-law. on the other hand that would also fall under fear of commitment and the all important expression, " why buy the cow if all you want is the milk?" if you are doing anything other than talking to this fellow without actually going out then you have a problem right there. why would he want to go out with you if he can get all the benefits without the commitment.

don't blame me for any of this by the way. I am nothing like this person so you can't group me in as a "guy in USA". then again I am also in my 30's and divorced so I am a whole different animal.

Dating is more casual in the USA than in Latin countries from what I gather (could be wrong though). It's also more natural for guys and girls hang out together and do things vs how in Latin countries where I am told guys and girls hang out more exclusively with people of their own gender, except in dating circumstances.

Dating is a difficult concept jumping from country to country, and even from one end of town to the other in big cities.

It's harder to claim a man here because it seems so uncool to be attached. In reality, we all want to be with the best person for us but sometimes the social pressure we put upon ourselves is too much. In short, when in Rome do as the Romans do.

I think its just the guys your with. sometimes we like to sleep around and sometimes we are looking for a girlfriend. look for the guys that are looking for somthing serious and not just party and sleep around.
