Slowly get off of them. Valium is a very touchy drug and ur doc should have never kept you on them for this long. That is my only suggestion and really the only one that there is. Slowly drop the dose and you are going to have withdrawl symptoms but you are strong, you can make it through them i just know it. Good luck.

That is a very long time to be on Valium, it is a very addictive, and is listed as a close relative of diazapam. Valium is designed to be used short term only, for example to help people come of alcohol. Is this the same doctor who is prescribing you this drug, if so he has alot to answer too. You may find this far fetched but you may have to go into rehab, they will help you get of prescriptions drugs.

first off valium is not an opiate for the stupid people that try to answer questions they dont know anything about, its a benzo. you should get off by slightly lowering the dose over a period of a couple weeks. if this doesnt help try checking into a rehab clinic

Arrange for a week of no responsibility for detox purposes. Tell some very good friends what you're up to and have them take turns dealing with you while you're going apeshit. You might not be a candidate for needing full blown rehab, but you might consider taking some time off work or whatever and checking yourself into a detox unit if you're really feeling like you need to.

depends why you are taking it in the first place,
it is not good for you & is obviously masking a problem that you need to find an alternate remedy for, be it for pain relief or depression etc.the problem with modern western medicine is most doctors prescribe drugs that treat symptoms but do not fix the problem.try looking into alternative therapy for the problem & as far as the valium goes you are going to have to suffer through feeling crappy for a few days as your body detoxes, try to allow 3-4 days to not have to do too much while you go through detox, then try to find some help for the original condition.
