I just took out my tongue ring because obviously it doesn't help my teeth. I use Rembrandt whitening strips. I just recently started flossing daily and brushing 3x instead of the pathetic once or twice.

Regular brushing and flossing are important. My dentist recommended getting a Sonicare as well or something like that because they clean better. But with all this you still need to get into the dentist and get a cleaning (twice a year is best) because they get up into your gumline and other places that you may be missing. They can then show you where you need to concentrate more.
Since dental insurance is so high, have you considered getting a good discount card? You can get one for only $11.95 a month and it will save you on your cleaning bill. Go to http://www.mybenefitsplus.com/bigsavings Make sure to locate a provider in your area but then you can apply by clicking on Join Now. You will be issued a member number (card will arrive in about a week). You take this member number to an approved dentist and can get the savings immediately.

Don't over do the whitening strips. They mess up your teeth if you use them too much. Brush and floss and get to the dentist once/year or more if you can.

Invest in a Sonicare toothbrush. Yes it is a little pricey but totally worth the money.

Brush twice daily & Floss once a day-before bedtime.

it is highly recommended that everyone sees the dentist once a year to have their teeth inspected and cleaned.

its your teeth! replacements cost more than paying that monthly insurance.

good luck!
