5 ounces wine USA is one "drink". The USA experts say drink one glass a day for optimum health, so 5 ounces a day for a 100 pound female is equivalent to 5 ounces a day for 250 pound male? give me a break.

Get yourself an Italian style stemless wine glass. 3/4 full is one serving. The health benefits of one glass of wine per day have been well proven. Anything over that, regardless of size and weight is considered too much. Saying 5oz. for a 100 pound woman is not the same as 5oz for a 250 pound male is like saying men can handle more cholesterol than women. It isn't true. We aren't talking about the effects of alcohol, but the health benefits of a specific food item. They are the same for women as they are for men, regardless of differences in weight and size.

sorry but it is a recommended serving. A serving of 1/2 cup of ice cream is not the same to your 100 pound woman vs. the 250 man. one serving of a a 1/2 cup of pasta is still a 1/2 cup of pasta. you do not change the serving size because you are bigger than your next door neighbor.

it has nothing to do with it being a "USA 5oz". That is what is generally considered a proper pour serving at any and all california wineries. One 750ml bottle of wine contains five 5 oz pours of wine.
