I had a job and I was really independent and then I quit, because my parents wanted me to. Now that i have quit, I have a lot of school stuff to pay for, such as field trips, test, and what not and my parents are getting bitchy because I keep asking them for money, even though they wanted me to quit my job. What should I do ?

in your case, no. i suggest you tell you parents the problem here. they may agree they made a mistake and ask you to take up a job... who knows? but really it isn't really your fault :)

This is a hard one because you didn't mention why they asked you to quit. If it was effecting your grades or you were dancing nude till 2am, I would side with your parents. I think your best bet is to talk to them about your expenses and ask them what their expectations are. What are they willing to pay for and what they are not. Also ask what their expectations are for your employment situation. For example, my parents would pay my living expenses but I had to work and pay for "extras" like my car, insurance, yearbooks, prom stuff (except my dress). Once you have an idea about how much money you need you can try to work something out be it chores or employment.

I'd explain to my parents, hey when I was working and doing for myself, you guys asked me to quit. Now you know I'm not making a dime, my expenses are pilling up, are you going to help me, or do I need to go back to work? Go back to work!

Youd be a fool not to use your resources to your advantage. Thats what people do. See if you can get your job back.
