How do you say "Chinese" and "Vietnamese" in Spanish? Not as in the adjectives, but the language (noun?). For example, "chinese" as used in this context: She speaks (in) chinese. Ella habla en...

Chinese= Chino
Vietnamese= Vietnamita

Ella habla en chino ( she speaks in chinese)

Chinese = Chino
Vietnamese = Vietnamita

Ella habla chino. (wich is not correct, you just can use this phrase when you get confuse of someone is talking to you, basiclly is a saying, in other words, Ella habla mandaring = She speaks mandarin *proper*)

Vietnamese=Vietnames

"Vietnamita" in Spanish is the natinality, "Vietnames" is the name of the language.Ex.: "¿De dónde es ella?" Es vietnamita.=Where is she from? She's Vietnamese." "¿Qué idioma habla ella? Ella habla vietnamese?"= What laguage does she speak? She speaks Vietnamese."

Calling the language "vietnamita" is incorrect.

The right answer is "chino" and "vietnamita" . The word "vietnames" does not exist in Spanish. According to RAE:

vietnamita.

1. adj. Natural del Vietnam. U. t. c. s.
2. adj. Perteneciente o relativo a este país de Asia.
3. m. Lengua vietnamita.
