would you feel guilty only adding five dollars to a wedding wishing well annonomously?

It depends on who the wedding is for and why you would add $5. If it is only an aquaintance, no. If close friend or family, I would put in what I would generally spend on a present.
However, if the reason for putting in $5 is because you really cannot afford more, then that would be fine. (and your lucky its a wishing well and you can get away with it :) )

I would feel guilty adding a buffalo nickle in person. Somebody could have saved that guy from accepting that his life was over.

Why would you feel guilty? All wedding gifts are optional. especially monetary ones.

If your not putting your name on it, who's to know anyway. If you gave a gift, that's all you need to do.
