They will help you get your GED, but you will still need to get a good ASVAB score to get into the military.
And as for being able to get your GED during basic, I went through Army BCT last summer & it's not true.

Some branches accept a limited number of enlistees with GED's. So a GED is their minimum standard. Get the diploma! Many adult school programs will allow you to take the GED and earn a high school diploma from their district. Check it out.

Contact your recruiter. I went in with a GED and now have a degree working on more. Your local recruiter will help you out with this information. go to www.military.com Lowering the standards is not the answer. How did you do on the practice ASVAB? good luck.

All of them will. That doesn't mean you will be accepted but waivers are available. It all depends on whether or not local quotas are being met. Standards have been lowered in response to the difficulties that the Army had in attracting new recruits but they had such a higher then expected re-enlistment rate that overall it didn't have a significant affect.

You have to have at least a GED. But, as I recall, you can enlist without having it as long as you take the test before you finish basic training. In 1988, they were still offering the test during basic. Not sure if they still do that or not.
