Seemed to be big news a few years back that we were "closing in" on the gene. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/3483431.stm
Then the Human Genome Project was considered complete, years ahead of schedule.
Is this gene forgotten?

from what i understand, the aging process is mostly not genetic. it is caused by toxins that slowly build up in your cells. i'm not talking about cancer, just normal wear and tear kind of stuff.

i don't have any evidence, it's just something i heard at some time or another, so i might be completely wrong.

The gene for aging has not been identified. If it has, please, tell us which one it is.
