Varies some from school to school.

(1) Campus culture is what you make. It all depends on the different social parties you are involved in. You will connect most with those in the same degree program as you. Eventually once you become a Junior/Senior you will see the same people a lot from the same degree program.
(2) Too much of anything isn't good. It is easy to let outside influences control your time and your energy (girlfriend, parties, working, etc.). Pretty much anything that can distract you is something you will need to monitor.
(3) Enjoy the time in school-- you will only do this once in your life time. Make sure you live the college experience, but also balance everything out with your studies. I think you know what I mean.
(4) Kissing butt sometimes doesn't hurt. If you are planning to go to a smaller school your reputation can have some influence on the way people view you (including professors). Make sure you always have a professional persona about you at all times (it worked while I was in school). Connect with other overachievers in class and bounce ideas off of them when you can/
