The answer is no, unless it is a manufacturer warranty, where you can take it to the Porsche dealer.
Two reasons why:
1. After market warranties are a major profit source for dealers. You might buy a warranty for $2,500 and then the dealer then sells that contract for $500.
2. Often these 3rd party warranty companies quickly fold up shop, so when you need a repair a couple of years from now, they aren't there any longer and the phone is disconnected.

First find out if this is a factory extended warranty or after market. If it is after market where can warranty service be done?
Some extended warranties are only valid at that dealership or through a specific mechanic. So if you are on a trip and break down, you might have to tow you car a pretty long distance to get warranty work done.
Look up long term reliability for the year & model you are interrested in. If there are some questions the extended warranty might be worth the money. Keep in mind that most mechanics would rather keep you as a customer so they most likely won't recommend the warranty.
As long as you find out all of the restrictions and benefits, you should be able to make a good decision.

Buy it. If it is a reputable dealer that will honor the warranty without a lot of hassle that is. You are probably about to spend 30-50 grand depending on the year. Repairs for expensive cars like that are ridiculously high. With 55,000 miles on it now, it is likely you will have some issues with it over the next 2 years. 2500 dollars sounds like a good deal.

I would go with it because simple repairs on a car like that will add up. If you can go 24K miles without a repair, than you bought a quality car. If you go through some repairs, than you can think twice about selling it before you run into more problems after the warranty.

No. Don't be a fool. It's a scam to get you in there. There will be lots of fine print, such that you pay for labor if over X hours and you pay for all parts.
Hence an oil change will cost you 10 hours, 9.9 will be over X hours and $500 for the oil and filter, total cost to you around $2000 for an oil change under your 'warranty.' Then, of course, they will 'find' something else wrong.

Check online for warranties, $2500 is an awful lot. I would also take a few minutes to read the fine print and see what is covered.
