You don't want your bones to fuse together, it would restrict your movements quite severely. C-Spine spondylosis will eventually severely affect your head movements. I have been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis, which is also called Spondylosis. If it's reaching your spine you would be looking for a wheelchair soon, or have surgery. I have had several Cortisone injections. It's best to ask your physician what is the right treatment for you.
Also, keep on moving, don't sit around or give up because it may hurt, which it will.

Hi there, my cat has spondylosis of the spine and when I adopted him when he was 13 years old he had very limited mobility - after 6 months he was running around like a kitten and nearly two years later is better than ever. This was due to exercise, good diet and medication. I don't like to use the example of my cat to you - but I wanted to as I have seen such an improvement in his health and mobility which was predicted not to improve.
I did read that exercise and anti-inflammatories really assist in keeping mobility with this illness. I looked around a lot when I first got my cat to see if I could help him more and what the prognosis was. There are lots of websites with information about this illness, I think it is always best to look at those than have interpretations of them from people like me!

If you are that worried do get a 2nd opinion. but he is right, if they do fuse you will be fine. My father in law has this problem but its also in his back. Yes he has to take pain meds but other then that he is able to go on with his life. And another thing, just cuz one doc says that they WILL doesn't mean that its so. thats why i use the term IF.
