Ok so this is a weird question, but I'm kind of wondering why my wrist has a mark on it, it's right on my wrist where people would typically cut themselves I guess and right now it looks like a scar that healed (a pretty big scar) that healed and it's just sticking up on my skin. I guess I don't know how to explain this very well but it just literally appeared out of no where tonight and it itches now a little. Maybe it appeared after I scratched it I guess, but it doesn't look like the normal mark after irritation. I know it's weird but if anyone might know what I'm talking about of if it's no big deal please let me know....thanks everyone.

That's happened to me before a few times. After I scratched myself that it kind of raised a long mark but didn't turn red. I don't know why that happened unless it was something to do with allergy medication but in any case it went away and healed like a regular scratch.

It sounds like an allergy. You might have scratched it on something you're allergic to, like a plant or cat's claw (you can have a reaction to their scratches even if you aren't allergic to cat hair). Or you could have a case of dermatographia, where a regular scratch--even an "I'm itchy" casual scratch--creates raised marks on your skin. It's most likely it's just a temporary condition, because your skin is sensitive for some reason or another. And the actual raised bits will definitely be temporary. I'll point out too that wrists are a really common area to get the first sign of an allergic skin reaction.

You can take some Benadryl and/or use some cortisone cream to calm down your skin. It's happened to me before (only at certain times in my life, probably less than 10 sort of month-long periods), and it's not something to worry too much about unless you start getting bad hives from contact with things. Then you should probably see a doctor.

When I first had a temporary bout of dermatographia, I was a teenager and had some fun tracing letters onto my skin and trying to convince my sister I was possessed. ;)

You can read more about dermatographia here:

Good luck to you!

This is an allergic reaction. I get them too, usually on the underside of my forearm, welts of all different shapes that are raised. Sometimes there is just one, sometimes many. They itch a little, and I can feel that sort of histamine tingle. I haven't bothered to identify the source, because it happens seldom and doesn't really bother me that much. But it's an allergy, perhaps even an insect bite.

were you sitting at the computer? Maybe you were leaning on it and got an indentation and now it is raised up like a scar.

It sounds like you probably scrapped it on something and it whelped up and now it itches.
Try putting some triple antibiotic on it.
Or peroxide

Id say you probably scratched it when you were younger or a cut. If someone asked what it is you can always say you had an accident when you were younger or fell off your bike.
