probably because a large number of the questions in the boxing section are about the sport from a fan perspective.

There are technique questions but I'm glad it is seperate or else we would bear the brunt of both "rocky balboa" fighting mike tyson questions as wll as bruce lee vs. questions.

boxing is a martial art and so is wrestling.

The wrestling section I think was set up in the same way but geared towards the popular wrestling leagues that are fake.

well to me and many others here we consider them martial arts....but yahoo does have a section just for them....

but it seems typically the boxing and wrestling most people talk about the entertainment aspects of it: Pro Boxing and WWE, while some people will come to the martial arts section when they are talking about technique and stuff. in my opinion.

but the martial arts section hasnt been broken up into a mma(sport entertainment) section
:(

Because boxing and wrestling already have a huge mainstream following among the general public outside of pure martial arts fans, who mostly look at eastern styles of fighting. People also think of boxing as beating people up rather than as a form of self defense.

Hi there

They originated from the west and are not part of military fighting arts which is why they are not considered to be a martial art. However I think they should be classed as a martial sport along with kickboxing, BJJ and mixed martial arts.

The boxing is popular enough to have its own section. Alot of people think MMA should have its own section. There are many boxing fans who have no interest in martial arts.

i agree with you and ask the same question . wrestling has its own history and is one of the earliest forms of combat , same go,s for boxing. i consider this a very efficient system of combat, though there are gaps , these can be plugged.

They really are, but they separated them because of the large fanbase for those specific sports. Soon you may see an MMA section heh.
