Has anyone moved to a Different High School in another province/state for grade 11 and 12? Tell me your experience please and how you got to get along with people in a place you've never been to before! Also was it hard to get use to the school rules and lifestyle? Did you enjoy the move out during your highschool year or was it very stressful and hard. Because i dont know if i should switch to another highschool in another province because it might ruin my education.

It's not easy, but a few of my friends did it. One of my friends simply wanted a fresh start, and he became really extroverted and happy at his new school. I personally have been to a ridiculous 8 schools (I think) before university, so I know what it's like to switch. I was younger but I guess I was friendly, knew my #1 priority was good marks, and the rest just fell into place. Never underestimate the power of a smile. Sounds cheesy but if you seem approachable and friendly, it's only a matter of time before you find friends. People have had to do much harder things (like leave their country as young adults and learn a different language), so trust me you can do this.

Is there any reason why you're thinking about this? Is your family thinking of moving? If you have a choice in the matter, just weigh your options, I suggest sticking with the family because they are your main source of support. Try to see the bright side, not potential disasters.

I moved after my sophomore year (also after I had played my way on to the Varsity Basketball Team in Summer League).
We moved to Las Vegas from So. Cal. and it just wasn't the same. Basically, I just put my head in the books and finished my studies to graduate a year early. I vowed that I wouldn't move my children during their HS years and because of it they have made friends that they still have today (They are in their 20's and 30's). I'm glad I didn't move them even tho' it meant that I missed out on job opportunities that could have paid much more and advanced my career. It was well worth the sacrifice looking back on it now.

I moved between my sophmore and jr. year. It sucked. It was stressful, but I just concentrated on school work and sports and everything worked out by sr. year. I made friends, capt. of my track team, and made it the best I could.
