IF a person is on tamoxifen and has not had her period for over a year; can she still get pregnant even with no period at all?

Sorry about the question but my friend has no idea if that is possible or not.

It is expected that most women who are on Tamoxifen will have irregular periods and there are those few who will stop menstruating completely. However, it is expected that a woman's periods will return to normal after she has stopped taking Tamoxifen.

Tamoxifen is considered dangerous to a fetus and should not be taken while pregnant. However, I have recently heard that Tamoxifen can be used as fertility treatment, weird.

Your friend should sit down and talk to her doc so that she has a full understanding of her medications and their side effects.

Yes, there is a small risk. In fact it is recommended to use contraception while taking tamoxifen, as it may cause problems with fetal development.

It doesn't take a regular period to get pregnant. Ask a physician for more information.

Why not consult a doctor.
