Is there other things I can use beside oil for a cake that would work the same without effecting the taste or for the most part. Just a simple thing around the house. I thought butter but I am not sure? Please help. Thank You

Melt the butter first and you should be ok.

mayonnaise works surprisingly well. Doesn't alter the flavor @ all. And makes it moist. Applesauce is great for spice cake or ginger bread. Adds flavor and moistens too.

It would be hard to determine the amount of the substitute but check the box if it is a mix. I think I have seen a substitute on the box but I cant remember.

Melted fat.

Yellow fat: butter, margarine.

White fat: Crisco or lard.

yeah you can use any kind of juice
butter
extra milk and water
