I have a pageant in a month, and I want to go to a tanning bed. I have before, but it was over a 5 month period, and I have only a little over a month. If I start going 3 times a week, do you think I will be tan by then? I would use tanning lotions, but my skin makes it blotchy so I cant use lotions. So any opinions or experience?

I have a small small smallllll case of eczema. SO that is why I cant use the lotions because it absorbs in some areas and in others it doesnt absorb too well. Also, I cant do the stand ones because im in a wheelchair.

start going every other day for ten minutes at a time until you have a slight tan. After about a week you should be able to go either more frequently or stay in the bed longer, whicherever you prefer. You should have a good tan in less than a month.

If you go 3 times a week, increasing your minutes each time, you should have a nice base tan in a month. You said you can't use lotions because they make you blotchy, there are lotions for sensitive skin that might work better for you. Also, you may want to use tanning spray mist instead of regular lotion. After you develop your base tan, you can use a tan-enhancing body lotion to accentuate it even more (ie, Jergen's Natural Glow).

Another option would be to get a spray-on tan like mystic tan. They actually work quite well, and look just like real tans. If you go for this option, I would try it out a few weeks beforehand first to see how you like it.

you could try a medium pressure tanning bed, its like 5 tans in one(well the results in them) you lay in it for 12 minutes. Last time i went into a tanning bed, i did a medium, i hadnt been tanning in two wks and burned a little, i rarely burn but my color was consistant and golden.

There are also high pressure tanning beds, i am a fan of these, these are i believe 7 to 8 times the tan in one session tans for 22 minutes, these you do less frequently and you cant burn from them, i forgot the reason why. I see results right away, Where i tan the high pressures, have misters and aroma therapy in the bed so its relaxing as well.

i would ask the sales associates about what combinations of tanning beds to use to get your desired color. Im sure there is a tanning lotion you could use that wont affect your skin too much, they seem to have a pretty good selection.

or you could try the tans in the bottle, those seem to be a good quick fix, just dont go for the ones with bronzers unless you like the orange look =)

you should be tan if your going 3 times a week i would also try using natrual glow by jergans after you tan because in a month or 3 wks you will get a result!they also have a lotion by jergans that is natrual glow for your face!! i rub in a little baby oil before i tan sometimes or to be safe(because i dont know how you skin will react to the baby oil) look for a tanning oil! you shouldnt get blotchy with that =) good luck

P.S
sally hansen has a leg tanning product out that you can spray on before the pageant just make sure you have 10-20 mins so it wont get on your dresses or outfitts

You should start of lightly first to make sure you don't turn out like a ripe tomato. Depending on the fairness/darkness of your skin I would say tan at least every other day for 10 minutes or so. And maybe even 15 once a week, and I think you can make it!

I think doing that is overdoing it. I think you could achieve a nice golden tan if you went a few weeks before your pageant. Over exposure to the rays will make your skin look dried out and you don't want to look too dark. That would just look too fake to me.

I would concentrate more on your talent and other parts of the pageant than your tan. Not as important as taking care of yourself emotionally and physically (eating right, exercise, etc.)

Good luck on your pageant.

You have more then enough time to get tan. I have had friends that use the tanning beds and are tan within a couple weeks. Get going and good luck in the pageant.

i guess it all depends on how easily you tan...if you dont burn easily then go for it you will be at least a shade or two darker and it has a tendancy to even out your skin so then you can use a lotion without the blotchyness but try it before your pagent i wouldn't wanna be the reason your blotchy for you pageant. hope this helps

i like to bypass tanning. human beings say it no longer stable for you , yet once you're like me i'm getting melancholy interior the wintry climate so i bypass alot interior the wintry climate time. a splash tan in no way harm all and sundry. A self tanner would not seem as stable , in case you get a self tan then you definately ought to bypass to the tanny mattress to maintain up the tan those self tanners dont final very long.

I love the burt's carrot oil day cream. it is a lotion you can also apply a bronzer over this and your exzema won't be affect if you apply this first plus it makes you darker. You won't get a blochy or orange tone ifyou use burts carrot oil day cream. You can look it up online or you can go to a health store.
