The Sun radiates energy.
The Earth recieves this radiation.
The Earth also radiates energy to space.
The balance of how much we recieve and how much we radiate to space causes a heat imbalance.
CO2 is not a cause of global warming any more than the blankets on your bed cause the bed to heat up. Double the blankets and the bed gets no hotter until you (a heat source) get in.
CO2 is a blanket not a heat source.

The Sun.
CO2 increases after a warming cycle and is not a cause of the warming cycle or it would have historically increased before a cycle, which it has not, therefore AGW is a LIE.
The IPCC reports were written and directed by POLITICIANS, not scientists. The IPCC reports completed ignored the scientists. The IPCC hockey stick has been proven to be fraudulent. That means fraud or lie to laymen.
These are facts, plain and simple. Humans did not cause this current cycle, nor can we do ANYTHING about it. Politicians lie for a lot of reasons. People make a ton of money off of this scare including a ton of scientists who support AGW, the are called academic whores.
If you want a glimpse of the truth, if you are not afraid of altering your world view, watch the Great Global Warming Swindle? Excellent production, full of real scientists, in that field of study, who actually worked on the original IPCC panel who all say this hysteria is a crock.

For when I was in school in the late 60's global warming was not mentioned .Everyone then was all worried about another Ice Age coming.

Politicians and Hollywood celebrities blathering on matters they know nothing about releases significant quantities of hot air that raises the temperature of the atmosphere.

Mostly (90%) man made, mostly by burning fossil fuels and creating CO2. A little (5-10%) from increased solar radiation. Data here:
http://www.ipcc.ch/SPM2feb07.pdf
Some more details.
Some gases in the atmosphere are transparent to visible light, but block heat. They let sunlight in and block the resulting heat. That's the greenhouse effect. It's like how the glass in a greenhouse keeps plants warm in winter. It's largely natural, desirable, and caused by water vapor.
Global warming is excess greenhouse effect caused by man, chiefly through burning fossil fuels and making carbon dioxide. It threatens to cause very costly flooding and serious damage to agriculture.
There is a natural "carbon cycle" that recycles CO2. But it's a delicate balance and we're messing it up.
Look at this graph.
http://scrippsco2.ucsd.edu/graphics_gallery/mauna_loa_record/mlo_record.html
The little squiggles are nature doing its' thing. CO2 falls a bit during summer when plants are active, and rises during the winter. The huge increase is us, burning fossil fuels. Nature buried them over a very long time. We dig them up and burn them, real fast. We're messing up the balance of nature and we need to fix that.

everybody is so preocupied that co2 ,or polution is the only reason of climate change
many people forget about desertification
desserts are like a fire they gobble up the edges with the heat and so grow.
forrests regulate the climate ,they absorb heat during the day and release it at night ,that is why desserts are freezing at night and cooking during the day
Forrests produce water ,and regulate the atmosphere we breathe (they absorb carbon )as well as protecting the earth from the sun
if forrest are being exchanged for ashalt, concrete and desserts
what is gonna keep this planet habitable for us
Global warming is a very complex collection of many effects
this text is limited to effects of people in the country, industrial effects on the environment and the internal combustion engine as well as the over all effects of cities and the ozone part of global warming,is another story,
climate change is caused partly by desertification ,and most desertification is caused by man
the thinner ozone layer helps to speed this up.and this is caused mainly by air polution ,also as a result of mans actions
there are natural cycles in the planets life
but a lot is influenced by mans existance ,and this is increasing with overpopulation, putting strains on Natural resources and increasing contaminations as well as destructions of essential componants the ensure living conditions for all life forms
in North Africa,India,Mexico ,millions of people are effected by land loss and desertification and some have died as a result
in china, thousands of what used to be farmers are running for their lives from the dust storms that have burried their towns and turned their lands into dessert,
,the Sahara is growing by 7 kilometers a year
and all of the desserts we know are a results of mans actions ,and they are increasing ,not getting less ,in the dinosaurs days ,there were no desserts.
collectively this planet is drying up because of bad farming practices like, over grazing and fertilizers,
each degree rise in temperature means 10%crop loss
and there is less and less water (because of deforestation),to irrigate this production ,
and there are less and less farmers to do it..
and there are 70 million more peole every year that have to eat and drink and wash
who are overpumping deep carbon aquifiers
who are plowing more and more unstable lands because they have lost so many million hectares to desertification ,
because of bad farming practises ,such as using fertilizers and heavy machinary or over grazing
RISING SEAS
The northpole is melting ,and we will know it without ice in our life times.
this does not affect the sea level because it is ice that is already in the water.but the melting ice from Green land and the south pole ,are another matter.

basically the amount of CO2 (carbon dioxide) in air is the major cause for global warming...
our atmosphere insulates earth from harmful cosmic radiations(including infrared,ultra-violet,etc). but due to increased amount of CO2 in air durin last 2 decades this protective layer of atmos is reducin & alowin harmful radiations reach us & collectively increasin the temperature of earth.
