I've seen a variety of Min Pins and they are all different. The best thing to do is introduce your daughter to the dog, if the dog isn't aggressive it will probably be fine. They are very protective of their families. Some do tend to focus on protecting one person more than the family, though. That is usually though because the pet feels they are dominate to the other family members. Just make sure the dog knows your daughter is dominate. They are loving dogs though. I hope everything works out.
Here is a website about them, hope it helps!)

Just from experience, a bad experience with a Yorkie (although not a MinPin but equally HiGhly energetic). Be weary of those finding a home for a small breed, energetic dog. Not saying your friend is bad, but usually their is a reason that they are getting rid of the dog. I knew that the dog that I was getting was high strung and "needed some training" (per the owner). However, that dog drove me nuts.
MinPins can be good pets, but are not for all.
Check out this website that will lead you to another website to help you choose the right type of dog for you. If you really want a dog to fit with the fam, this has a breed selector that shows you the type of dog for your lifestyle.

I have a one year old Min Pin. She is my first dog and I absolutely love her. My Min Pin Ella is around kids all the time and she would never hurt any of them. My niece can be aggressive with her and my dog will tolerate it. I guess every dog is different but I think that a Min Pin would be a good match for a family with kids. They are hyper dogs that need attention and exercise.

I have a min pin that is 8 years old. Though, not a puppy many people are suprised when I tell them he is 8 because he is so energetic. My dog never bites me and is a very protective of me too.
Look up the breed on www.wikipedia.org to learn a little more about the breed.

I would not recommend this breed for a house with small children. Sometimes they can get underfoot and get hurt. Min Pins are a very active breed and have a reputation of running away. They are hard to train, but do respond with persistance. I have a min pin, but I do not have children. So I have a lot of extra time to train her.

I too have a Min Pin who I love dearly. She's not a nipper but it did take her a while(like 4 months) to get to my nephews, ages 6 and 9. She now likes to jump on the to get them to play with her and when they go to sleep, she curls up with them and takes a nap too. She still doesn't go near my father though. She can be quite the barker at times. If you want to know more about the breed I suggest you visit zeussdoghouse.com . It's a sign when min pin owners discuss their lives with their min pins. Check it out.

They are sweet little dogs but there feet and legs can be very delicate. I've had mine for seven years and she is a very good watchdog. Go to akc.com or even yahoo pets will have a lot of info on them. They do tend to think they own the house.

I would take your family to visit him and see how it goes. Although, I haven't heard a lot about them I don't recall anything bad. They are not a dwarfed doberman. Entirely a different breed. I think they may be noisy, though. Neat looking dogs with a distinct hackney gate.

Miniature Pinschers are a good breed for families. I can confidently say this because I was raised around them and my grandpa breeds them. They have a very good temperment.

I had a little min pin named tayor ham.
she lived to be 14. was a lively companion. they do bark a bit.
are lots of fun. you have to watch small dogs w/ children. they should never play rough. my friends child stepped on her yorkie and broke its leg.
good luck! it might just turn out to be your daughters best friend.....
