Most brides will get a solitaire diamond ring before they get married. A solitaire dimond ring is a band with a diamond on it. This is given when the man/women ask that person to marry them. This solitaire diamond ring symbolizes the love this person has for their bride/groom to be. He/She will ask the person to marry them and place it on their left hand. The person that has said yes will then where the ring until they get married. Some marry right away and others set a later date. This then will show others how much your love has grown and that you want to spend the rest of your life together. Later before you get married a bride/groom will give you what is called a "WRAP" which has diamonds on it and it wraps around the diamond solitaire. This is a gift to your bride/groom for their wedding day. Others will marry with just the solitaire diamond. Also often on your 10 year anniversary you will be given a diamond band to go on the top or under the wedding ring you already have.

A solitaire diamond ring is a classic engagement ring, consisting of a single diamond and a simple band.
It is perfect to propose with. It put a lot of emphasis on the quality of the single diamond.
I proposed with a platinum solitaire diamond ring, and then my wife to be chose the wedding band she wanted to go with it.

A solitaire diamond ring is a very traditional engagement ring. The solitaire stone can be a variety of shapes (round, marque, princess cut, even heart shaped). It is a good ring to propose with.

Yes! I have a solitaire. I like it better than non-solitaires because I think having other diamonds or designs on the ring draws attention away from the main diamond.

It's one where its just the band and 1 diamond, and yes you can propose and use it as an engagement ring. I have one and love it...It's very classic and will never go out of style, an engagement ring is something I plan to wear forever and I didn't want to hop on the 3 stone princess band-wagon myself, but you might want to get ideas from your fiance or her close friends and see if she would like one!

most engagment rings are solitaires and yes, it's ok depending on whether she is high maintence or not one or two carats is good.
My first husband propsed with a "dust" diamond but, I still said yes.
If she loves you the ring will only be a symbol not the reason she accepts or not.

uh, yeah
solitaire means it is the only diamond on the ring. It IS the engagement ring. The wedding band can have no diamonds. Or it can have diamonds that match the ring with the solitairie (only) diamond ring.

A solitare is a ring with one diamond - (like solo means one and solitude means alone). And yes, it's an excellent engagement ring.
So when they say a "diamond solitare" they're referring to one diamond stone on the ring.
A one carat solitare would mean a single diamond that is one carat in size.
