when an atheist asks a question? If I ask a question about the existence of God, I do not want a quotation from the bible, probably because I DON'T BELIEVE IN IT?!?!? What part of that don't you people understand?

Non Bible Quote follows.

"There is grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers, having been originally breathed by the Creator into a few forms or into one; and that, whilst this planet has gone circling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a
beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being evolved." Charles Darwin - Origin of the Species.

Happy?? ;-)

I am a Christian and love to read and re-read the Bible. It becomes a part of me the more I read it and study it. However, I also understand what you are saying. I respect your position about the Bible and appreciate your candor. If you have a question about the Bible , do not think that the forth coming answers will not be a continuing stream of text and verse from the very thing you are questioning. If you have a question about God, you would have us answer how? From our own experience or from what we have read (Bible) and learned. Explain what you want in the ways of answers.
Let me put it this way for you friend. Do not ask a vague question and you probably won't get so many vague responses. Be specific, get specific. Get it?

And on a side note. I know many Christians who can think for themselves and do not always quote scripture with every sentence.

Then why do some athiests continually like to ask questions about the Bible using Scriptures they've twisted to give a meaning that is not really true? I just answered one a little while ago, and it was by no means the first. Perhaps this question would have been better addressed to include them, as, like you say, they don't believe the Bible. I don't understand it any better than you do.

If you don't want to hear things from the Bible, don't talk to a Christian or Jew about their religion. It's that simple. If you don't ask we won't tell.

If the things they tell you are not to your likes .... why do you care? It won't make you a better person anyway so why does it bother you?

When you ask a question about the existence of God, you are asking them why they believe in their God. They/we get all of our information from the Bible. In order to answer your question it must be based on Biblical evidence or experience.

If I asked you a question pertaining to a scientific subject I would expect you to quote me information of proof from a scientific source, a book, chart, picture or some other authority. That is what Christians do when we are asked about God.

What part of anything do you understand ?

Our God's words are in His book, he tells us to answer your questions with His word so that you may have an answer, to not do so would mean we don't beleive God.

So, what would you have us do ? Dishonor Him "just because you do ?

And why all the questions about the "impossible" existence of a God you do not beleive in ?

I never talk or am concerned with what i don't beleive in so why do you ? "What's the point" ?

I beleive in atheists because I know there are athiests, Gods word tells me so and so do the atheists, God say's "your choice". He also commands me to give you an answer FROM His inspired word "THE BIBLE" .

Hope this answers your question.

Let's see if I understand this:

You ask questions about God, Whom you don't believe in. But you don't want quotes from the Bible, which you also don't believe in, even though it happens to be the greatest source of information about that God that you don't believe in.

That makes about as much sense as trying to bake a chocolate cake without using any chocolate, eggs, flour, or butter.

Bottom line: you want to make all the rules and limit the sources to only those that you approve of. Sorry, but life and debate don't work that way.

We quote the Bible because it is the inspired word of God.

Friend, did you know that there is even a Psalm written in the Bible for atheists? Look it up Psalm 53

If I've said it once, I've said it one hundred times, they are Clones and can't think for themselves.. They have their e-bible and rush in there and cut and paste all the bull sh*t that nobody wants to read in the first place and think how smart they are for answering the question..They would be lost without their scripture or the Priest on Sunday.. I sometimes wonder how they manage to make it to the Church by themselves on a Sunday anyway... Blessed Be.. )O(

None of it. Why would you want our opinion when you could have the real thing? If you do not believe in what the Bible says then why do you want to know about GOD?? You do believe or at least you know that you need GOD.

If you are to educate yourself and you are given a text book to study for a test about the education that you receive from that text book how do you expect to answer the questions on the test without quoting what you have learned from the book? That is the way that it is for christians with the bible. We are given a book to teach us how to live our lives in a pure and holy form. We have to learn and remember what we are being taught from that book to live that pure and holy life. Christians are happy with their new life and they want to share their happiness with other people and help them to find happiness also. We can't tell you how to find a pure and holy life with God without telling what we have learned. What we have learned comes from the bible. The same way that you were to study for a test, you can't answer the questions without studying for the test and answering the questions without knowing whats in the book. You have to learn the answers and tell what you have learned to be able to past the test. We learn from the bible and we share what we have learned. Take a test without quoting from the text book and see if you pass without having the answers that you need because you didn't study and learn what you needed to know to past the test. It is not that easy is it?
We understand that you don't believe but we are praying that you will believe and that you will learn the truth before it is too late and you see the consequences before it is too late. We are to love one another and to help one another regardless of whether or not they believe or if they want the help.
We are here to help you and if you refuse to believe or accept our help that is your choice. Have you thought about listening or trying to see what it is that christians believe to see if it does make sense or to see if it is true?
I think it is ironic that atheists don't believe in God but when they get into trouble and they need help they first person that they call upon is God. We were created in the image of God. We were created for him, by him and to believe in him. So I believe it is natural to call on him in time of trouble. I wouldn't be suprised if there is a time that an atheist calls out to God in a time of trouble and he actually answers and shows his grace and mercy . He stands at the door and waits for us to knock and ask for his help. It is up to us to knock and ask for him. Until you knock and ask for him, you may never know if he is ever there or not.
