I have the Logitech Z5500. I decided to use optical audio. The subwoofer and front left and right speakers are working. The back speakers and center are not. On the Logitech website the only solution they list is for if you are using the supplied cables which im not using.

You are most likely getting the right sound. You are watching a stereo show and it will only come through the right and left speaker + subwoofer.

All analog tv shows are stereo audio encoded, at best. Also in stereo are many broadcasted HDTV shows. Try watching a HD channel program that is in full 5.1 Dolby Digital- such as one in 720 or 1080 widescreen.

the main glaring question i will invite is do you have time-honored audio cables (pink/white RCA cables) going out of your stereo to the television? if the respond is definite or in case you're utilising and optical/coaxial cable then it might desire to be your stereo. each so often you are able to desire to alter the sound settings to encompass or make optimistic its enabled with the applicable wires. this could remedy the difficulty. I even have an identical style gadget with a HD television and it relatively works super.

i owned the system and i can tell you that its very easy to get it to work but you need to spend some time reading the manual and playing around with the audio options. Also check the sourse, is it coming from computer? or dvd player? so check those too the problem may be coming from the source.

Check your DVD player's set-up menu. You may have to activate a 5.1 output to your reciever, and make sure the reciever is set to play Dolby Digital 5.1 too.

you have to make sure the rear speakers are in the rear imputs, not the B speakers inputs and then make sure the system is set to surround or theater mode rather than stereo
