They have many of the same symptoms, so I really don't know which one I have. I feel that if I was taking classes that weren't so hard, I would be happier, but as of now i'm feeling a little hopeless and frankly, depressed. thoughts?

Sounds like a typical students woes to me. No need to medicate "classes are hard & I let things get to me ". Most people have felt that way during stressful times including me.
It would not hurt to see a doctor but students are the fastest growing customers of the drug companies. I think drugs should be a last resort not a fix all for doctors.
Good luck, I hope you feel better soon!

You could have a little of both since you are attending classes and that might be stressing you out causing you some depression.

Could you get some time off from your classes?

See your family doctor is this persists for more than a week or two at the most.

Hope things change for you soon.

Burnout can cause depression.
Talk to your counselor and ask if you can switch one or two of your hardest courses.
Or drop the one that causes the most stress and pressure.
Also, discuss your symptoms with your physician...there may be an underlying medical cause to your symptoms.
Good luck and God bless.

Deppression is mental exhaustion. Burnout is physical exhaustion. But think about why you need to take those hard classes now.Maybe postponing one could help you feel better.

Please stay away from medications if possible! Medications MAY cause you to fail or get lower grades! I think just a short vacation would help you get back on track! This is short term you will not be going to school forever!
